Well, I didn't mean it was TOO slow. I loved it, I thought it was great. But a friend saw it and, expecting it to be a non-stop kaiju battle, was really disappointed. I just want to warn people that it's slow so they won't expect 2 hours of giant monster battles.

Yep. Very slow, played straight and very DRY humor. Not going to be for mostly everyone. But with a LOT of patience this movie does pay off. The man behind this film, Hitoshi Matsumoto, was once good friends with Takeshi Kitano. He made BMJ and Kitano made 'Glory to the Filmmaker!' which bombed back in Japan. There was this big facing off between their films. Very big news in Japan.

Honestly have to agree with Jack Burden. Pacing is way too slow. There were positives, but I frankly got bored about 3/4 of the way through and gave up. The monster fights are awesome and ridiculous, but the rest is not so great.

This movie is brilliant. It's already got a "This is Spinal Tap"-like cult following - it's a superhero mockumentary for Christ!

Thank you Japan for this bizzare stuff. Ever wonder what would happen if you take something normal in Japan and make it bizzare in the US. [WARNING][WARNING][WARNING][WARNING][WARNING] The following video could possibly make your nose bleed. Especially the crippled girl with the Wheelchair mobile fortress. You've been warned. How I wish there was a channel that completely dedicated itself to bizzare japanese shows and movies. If only!

Oh. My. Shit. I want to froggy style with my super-elongated eyeball penis.
-
Holy crap. What the hell did I just watch?
-
But is it better than Watchmen? The people want to know.

I saw BMJ a while back and it is awesome. A warning though, it's done in a mockumentary style and the pacing is rather slow for the most part. He does fight several giant monsters, but most of the time it's just him being interviewed, talking about how his kid won't talk to him and most of Japan hates his guts. It's great.

Oh, holy shit I want to see more of this.
