That reason is the Rifftrax by Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett (formerly of MST3K) which gets released today over at Rifftrax.com. I contend all sparkly vampires are purely in their domain, so I, personally, have been waiting to watch Twilight until this momentous day. Yeah, it was tough. A real test of willpower. Totally.

I love MST3K and that is still not a good reason to watch twilight. That and they really have not had any great riftrax for a while now. 300 was the best. I can't wait till they do the remake of the day the earth stood still

This movie has so much material that's rich for comedic commentary and yet....during that whole clip, I didn't laugh once. Not my style of humor I guess. Just reminds me of guys in the back of the gaming store trying to be funny.

I've been seriously hoping they'd do Twilight. I'm just not a fan of Riffs that do decent films (they can be funny- Iron Man was pretty good). It's just that the riffs are always funnier when the movie is horrible (Transformers, Roadhouse, Crossroads, Glitter, etc.). Oddly, it means I buy a lot of movies I wouldn't spit on if they were on fire... and I sure as hell don't look forward to taking Twilight up to the counter. That's almost as embarrassing as the time I grabbed Glitter and Crossroads on sale... hrm.

Yes! I grabbed star wars from them a few days ago, and was more excited to see twilight was coming soon than almost any movie they've done. The worse the movie, the better the riffing seems to be. Which means this should be one of the all time best.
Second on the embarrassment on renting or buying Glitter and Crossroads though. Even if crossroads wound up being one of my favorites of their work.

Matt- they actually do get screeners. That's how they can have day-and-date riffs (as was the case with Cloverfield). So sometimes, yeah.

These preview clips are really terrible for judging the whole thing. I saw the 300 preview clip and immediately stopped thinking about RiffTrax for almost eight months, it was that unfunny to me. But then I had a chance to actually see the whole movie done that way, and it's hilarious. A couple of minutes at a time just don't work, even if they're the funniest lines. You have to watch the whole movie with these things.

Oooh, the glittering vampires can read minds, too? Gha.
I watched 30 Days of Night and God was I glad I got to watch a movie with real vampires. Inhuman, merciless, sick and twisted vampires who decide to vacation in a quaint Alaskan town and have fun with the locals.

Cue the obligatory *glittering/sparkly vampires* joke.
I'm almost certain this might be their best RiffTrax ever, although to surpass Star Trek 5 is going to be quite a feat at greatness.

@ Tom -- really? I thought the vampires in 30 Days were terminally stupid. They were only vicious in the way a rabid animal can be--cunning and mean, but not terribly intelligent. Shitty sense of self-preservation, too. If you live off of blood, don't you want to *drink* your victim instead of splattering him all over the village?
I stood in Blockbuster last weekend, looking at row upon row of Twilight dvds and *wishing* with all my heart that there was a Twilight RiffTrax. We had to go with Eragon instead. But lo! the media gods have granted my plea, and now I can enjoy the stupid glittery vampires as nature intended.

I feel as excited about this Riff as the twilight fans do about their movie (all of which is proportional to the amount of hate I have for it). My rifftrax buddies and I are planning on an extra special viewing of it, with top-shelf hooch and four gallons of popcorn. It's going to be awesome.
It will be hard to displace 300 as my favorite Rifftrax, but this one could be a contender.

I'm so sad that I rarely can make myself laugh at Rifftrax. I loved MST3K but I just don't find Rifftrax funny. These days Cleolinda does a way better job of making fun of movies.

The only thing missing from this track was Robert Pattinson thinking, "OMG! Pownies!" I heart Rifftrax in this particular scene, AND I'm a Twilight fan.

Love Rifftrax. Hate Twilight. It's like an explosion in my tortured soul - to see Twilight again but to hear the Rifftrax... Woe be unto me!

Saw it yesterday with my girlfriend who I suspect has a secret love of twilight. We both rated it among the funniest rifftrax yet.
