My problem started when they thought adventure games would be better with lousy 3d graphics as opposed to great humorous 2d cartoonstyle...
-
*high pitched sound only dogs, monkeys, and pirates can hear* GLEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
great news but im only interested if it eventually is available as a one piece product. This episodic crap that seems popular at the moment is just a way of getting more sales. I wanna install and play it thru in a sitting, not have to install it five seperate times! :)

I never liked the fourth game. I was hoping that if anyone ever made a new MI game they'd do it in the style of the third game but in HD. There really is no need to upgrade on that style. I'll still give it a shot though.
-
YEAH! Motherfuckin' YEAH!
-
Awesome. Normally the fourth MI game would have made me wary, but Telltales deserve a chance. I'm just not sure about the voice-acting. I hope that's the same Guybrush.
-
Why can't they leave good franchises alone? Can some one answer that???? Monkey Island ended with the third installment, Indiana Jones ended with the Fate of Atlantis, Maniac Mansion ended with Day of the Tentacle. Please stop rehashing franchises! Is humanities collective creativity so low that the only things that are produced are sequels and remakes?

I don't know how funny I thought that trailer was. While the one liners and dialogue always made me laugh for the first and second MI, the trailer for this one just made the game seem--- OK. I don't want to fire it down before I even play it, but I wasn't totally impressed. I think the Monkey Island series would be in good hands, if it were back in Ron Gilbert's hands-- he even said he'd be interested in doing another one-- let's get this recipe right.

Sam and Max episode 4: Abe Lincoln must die! was one of the funnies things I'v played in ages... I can't remember the last time a game made me laugh that hard. Not only that but the last ep of the first season was pure awesomeness. Monkey Island is in good hands... at least, better hands then LA.

Hemeowh, I'd advise you to take a look at one of Telltale's games. One of the best episodes of Sam & Max, "Abe Lincoln Must Die!", is available for free on their site. I don't work for their PR department or anything, but their creativity is top-notch, and they always treat their licenses with respect. Their S&M games are better than Hit the Road, in my opinion. I'll be surprised if these new episodes don't at least reach the shoulders of the original games.

This doesnt look good at all. The Monkey Island saga is done and wrapped,or it should have been so with the third game(an excellent way to end the series by the way).Guybrush got the girl and became a pirate,it's like making a sequel to the Odissey where Odiseus's wife now engages in a profitable carreer of mass sock knitting. Lechuck's voice actor seems to have changed, his new looks don't seem promising and I doubt on how much he can be further developed. "Episodes"?The industry money grubbing has fallen really low... Finally, why not focus on creating new characters instead of resurrecting old ones? Creativity seems truly dead in the mainstream this days...

TellTale is the company that does the Sam and Max games since getting the license from Lucasarts, Traveller's Tales is who does the Lego games...
-
And I heard it will come out on GENCOM too. GENCOM- Giving new ways for you to spank the monkey.
-
There are at least two lines that can be taken way out of context. "My wife gets a little cranky when she tied up for more than an hour." and "...sword of hot monkey vengeance. But other than that I'm going to love this game. Can't wait to download it on the wii.
-
This is indeed excellent news, but I just wanted to point out that Telltale Games had nothing to do with the LEGO games. That's Traveler's Tales. Telltale are responsible for several other episodic adventure series': Sam & Max, Strong Bad, and they're currently halfway through a Wallace & Gromit one. Having played and enjoyed both all of their S&M episodes, I'd say that Monkey Island is in safe hands.

How soon before Telltale snags Maniac Mansion, Full Throttle, and the Grim Fandango franchises? Hell, have Lucasarts contract them for a new Indiana Jones adventure game a la Fate of Atlantis. Sierra? Wherever you are, sell your franchises to these guys! You're not doing anything with them, right? What's that? Raunchy LSL spin-offs that completely miss the point of the original series? Yeah, go ahead and admit your mistakes and hand them over to someone who would actually give a damn about quality. (I'm referring to Vivendi's Sierra, not the Sierra of old).
