I have no idea why, but it kind of reminds me of the Mighty Boosh.

I started out thinking that a kids show is a total and complete waste of anyone involved in tokyo gore police or machine girl. On watching this, however....huh. Intentional or not, much of that was pretty amusing.

Still, I'd rather have a real sequel(not the little mini feature) to machine girl. Or at least another comedic bit of over the top gore.

It's like someone took my dream and put it on prime time. I love you Japan.

I supposed we won't be seeing an American version of this on Disney XD or Nickelodeon.

Just so you know, Dogu (not Dogoo) is a clay sculpture which some archaeologists believe to be a representation of an ancient astronaut.

The ancient astronaut theory is one that was really popular in the 60s and 70s, essentially the idea that in the early dawn of civilization aliens came to visit our planet and taught us things like math and agriculture. Some believe that is why the pyramids are there, and why there is an iron pillar in the middle of India that does not rust.

anywho, the little cheesy animatronic alien thing is very similar to the Dogu statue that was found in Japan. which is believed to be a sculpture of an alien.

The words "horrifyingly obnoxious" don't even begin to sum up the leading lady or any of the other shenanigens featured within this trailer. Live-action anime is always a failure, period. Then again, the entirety of Japan's movie industry is a tremendous joke too, so I guess this isn't any more/less creepy and lame than that.
