Some dude named Captain Chirac added a laugh track to Vader and Luke's confrontation in Empire Strikes Back, and it is fucking my shit up. It's so, so weird -- the laughs make the whole scene incredibly unsettling to me, especially when Luke gets his hand cut off and the crowd goes wild. It's like you're watching the movie with genial psychopaths or something. Anyways, thanks to Dan M. for the tip.

It's like watching some old British comedy on PBS.

gee rob, it's not enough that you have to ruin fridays for us forever with FFF, now you HAD to post something to completely ruin my most-cherished bitter-sweet moment of when i was but a wee lil' nerd.
to be fair, tho, i guess i should really blame Captain Chirac for that. thanks a lot! jerk!

That's around where I stopped watching the video too. It wasn't funny. It was just stupid.

This is freaking brilliant. It's a perfect example of something that's SO "high concept" that it achieves an artistic critical mass (measured in kilograms of cojones).

This person put in way too many laughs.
Using them at the correct moments would have made this way funnier.

Dirty Diego replied to Lord Alvarez:
I agree. The only funny part was when Luke's hand went flying. The laugh track was great for that part.

Yes, you are. But making that video would be one heck of a way to be remembered on earth.

Adding the laugh track freed me to laugh at it myself, so +1.

the laugh track makes the scene like Vader and Luke are doing a comedy routine . that plus the voices laughing sound like they think Luke is so funny to be fighting Vader. and want Vader to win.

Yes, there was a little too much laughter but this is something that I feel George Lucas should look into doing for future SW installments.

While I'm always FOR good sendups of any of my favorite films, TV shows or novels, it just didn't work for me. I not only didn't LOL, I actually SMHITA'd (Shook My Head In Total Apathy). THEN, I LOL'd at my own warped humor. As our old furry friend, ALF, used to say, "I kill me!"

Ya know, to be honest, this just pissed me off. And I am by no means an "uber Star Wars fan."
I stopped watching after 1:00... it's just disrespectful and dumb. And it ruins my Empire Strikes Back watching experience for no good reason at all. Makes me wanna bitch-slap the person responsible for this edit.

I love Star Wars, and I thought this was just hilarious! It kinda reminded me of those fantasy scenes from That 70's show.
5 stars from me.

Let's just say that it changes the dynamic somewhat. Once you've seen it (heard it) it cannot be unseen (unheard).
