Zombieland Writers Dip Their Toes in the Deadpool Movie

?That’s it, really. That’s the news — Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers of the Zombieland screenplay, have officially been hired by 20th Century Fox to write the Deadpool movie. Now, I’ve not seen Zombieland yet — and I’ve read exceedingly little Deadpool, frankly — but everything I’ve seen of the Zombieland previews and the comics lead me to believe this is a perfect fit. Deadpool should be both action-packed and funny, which Zombieland appeared to be in spades. In fact, I think this is such a perfect fit that we can probably file it under Too Awesome to Actually Happen. Seriously, either Warner Bros. will pull some kind of dick move to prevent Ryan Reynolds from appearing in the film, management will change at Fox and the Deadpool movie will be dropped, or they’ll hire Brett Ratner to direct or something. There’s just no way we can have a movie this promising actually live up to its potential. No way. Right? (Via /Film)
