• Strong has been good in the films I've seen him in, but he's not really likeable. Sinestro has to have some charisma. I don't want to see him as Sinestro and immediately think, "He's the twat that ripped off Mysterio with none of the charm in Sherlock Holmes! He needs to die as soon as possible!"

• Mark Strong, Andy Garcia, and young Robert Deniro all look seperated at birth.

• If Mark Strong has been cast as Sinestro, why is there a picture of Andy Garcia up there?

• Call me crazy, but I still say John Waters would make for the best possible Sinestro.

• Yes, JEH but the same guy who plays small, hunched, grungy kind of characters like Freddy Krueger, Rorschach, or the dirty hippy from Semi-Pro wouldn't be a good fit for such a lanky, egostistical, almost regal type of character like Sinestro.

• I third it.. we all lose when he isn't being awesome on our screens... Fuck he only needed five minutes in Shutter Island...give the man like a minute or two, he'll steal the shit out of any movie ever.

• I like this cast choice. I would have preferred Haley slightly more, but Mark Strong is fine.

• Plus Robin Hood, John Carter of Mars, and Eagle of the Ninth.

• Eh, you're not alone in thinking GL is boring. I hear that a lot these days. I wouldn't say it's the most exciting series or character but I really like the basic concept and I guess that's enough to keep me interested. If nothing else the movie will give us live action Kilowog which will be AWESOME. Can't wait to see who they get to voice him.

• My fist may not be right for your face, but the two will connect. I'm kidding, you're right. I'll even brave the backlash when I admit that I think Green Lantern is boring. But my crazy statement stands.

• "I have come to the conclusion that Jackie Earle Haley should be in EVERYTHING." I second that insane motion.

• I like him too, but that doesn't mean he's right for this character.

• He's the bad guy in both Kick-Ass and Sherlock Holmes, so he's doing pretty well for himself.

• Strong is fine, but I have come to the conclusion that Jackie Earle Haley should be in EVERYTHING. So far, he has not let me down. I started watching Human Target and went to see Shutter Island because he was in them, and they are both pretty awesome. I hope that if he is not in Green Lantern it is because he got a better role as the Riddler in Batman or something.

• Is it just me or is Mark Strong in every other movie being made these days? Don't get me wrong, I like the dude and he is always in good roles, much like the equally ubiquitous and watchable Michael Caine in the last century and the slightly less watchable Jude Law of the naughts.

• perfect choice for Mark strong just screams bad villain type that plus he seems to have the ego needed for Sinestro . not to mention with Geof new role at dc he is proably taking a hands on in who is the right person to pull off Dc characters on screen

• I like this casting way more than JEH. Dude is a lot more imposing and his voice fits the character much better in my opinion.

• Good casting 2nd. That guy has the fivehead to pull off a good sinestro.

• I give this casting the thumbs up. Its shown he can play the cocky, self assured ego type...so the dude could make a very good Sinestro.
