• It looks soooooooo much better on film that in those pics, I was disturbed when I saw em first too. And Radio Times got it, cos its the Radio feckin' Times!!! Its the best TV guide in the UK. And because of its links with the BBC, they get the best Dr Who shit first :)

• Indeed. Basically you bought Radio Times for BBC programmes and TV Times for commercial stations. It wasn't for many years -- the Eighties I think -- that deregulation (the Conservative government liked to deregulate everything) that the magazines were allowed to cross over. Now there are dozens of tv guides of which IMHO Radio Times is the best and since it's essentially the BBC's public newsletter it gets the non-cult Doctor Who magazine exclusives.

• Yeah I also couldn't figure out what was wrong with movies now-a-days. But now I know. And knowing is half the battle!

• Just as the Doctor changes... the TARDIS can change too, adding new rooms whenever it is needed. Kinda like Harry Potter's necessary room (or whatever it's called). If you've watched the Who-verse for some time, you'll see many different designs for the Tardis. It's not just the pseudo cock-pit that we almost always see.

• What I thinks awesome is that ratty duct-taped yellow jump seat is still there. instead next to console, its agains the railing on the far right.

• The holes and plywood looking floor has me thinking that maybe this is a "set" picture rather than an angle we'd see in the show. Or maybe the floor is covered with CG or matte painting. That could answer the orange color question too, that might not be the way the set is normally lit. The orange color could be an artifact of the house lights.

• ... and the fact there was another listings mag called TV Times in the days before the RT ever listed anything show on any other channel other than the BBC.

• I recommend you watch 'The End of Time' for a reason for the need to redecorate.

• The fact that the BBC has never rebranded it's Magazine and keep calling it the "Radio Times" is one of the many idiosyncratic and charming parts of the BBC that make people love it so fiercely.

• It does look cool, but I think I hoped for a console that looked less organic and less like the last one, and a less orange color scheme. Best console room ever was still the TV Movie's. Even people who hated the movie tended to think that room was awesome.

• A Sontaran skeleton occasionally in the background might be a nice gag for the new series.

• Why are they redesigning it? I mean, what excuse are they gonna use for the Doctor's decision to redecorate? I love this, though. The new series seems pretty flawless so far.

• I'm not crazy about it. But yeah, I would like to see more rooms shown off. The TARDIS is MASSIVE inside and they made a lot more references to that in the old days and the operator of a TARDIS could delete and rearrange rooms as needed. I know it has at least one swimming pool and in "The Invasion of Time" the 4th Doctor led a squad of Sontarans chasing around its labyrinth interior for an hour. In fact, I think some of those Sontarans may still be lost somewhere in the bowels of the TARDIS!

• Does this mean we are actually going to use some of the other rooms in the TARDIS?? Besides the clothing room being seen once and mentioned several times. I remember seeing the crazy 8th doctor movie where 80% of the action took place in different rooms of the TARDIS!

• given how long the doctor and the Tardis has been around . guess the bbc and the current producers finaly decided the Tardis needed a remake . as for the magazine surprised as old as it is its still around and been able to show the new Tardis
