Daddy Issues: The Final Frontier
/Film posted this trailer for the documentary Trek Nation last week, and I’m only now getting to it. I feel bad about this, because Trek Nation looks pretty damned keen — it’s about Rod Roddenberry (son of Gene) and his examination of the fan-following his father’s work inspired, and trying to wrap his head around it all. Sure, it’s probably a way for Rod to take a little financial ride on his father’s coattails, but it’s reverent, both of his father, Star Trek, and Trekkies, if this trailer can be believed. Far too many progeny of famous people try to make their money by airing their families’ dirty laundry, so I’m willing to cut Rod some slack for taking the higher road.
