• I remember watching Voltron and Robotech on some chicago station when I was growing up. We had a lot of anime in the early 80's in Puerto Rico, though to us, they were just cartoons. Off the top of my head I remember Mazinger/Great Mazinger, G Force, King Arthur, Ulysses 31 and Steel Jeg. I always figured you had them in the mainland as well, but I guess we got them from Mexico or something.

• Rob, we had Voltron, Robotech and Tranzor Z back in 1984-1985. You can't be THAT much older than that, can you?

• Frack, I feel old. I was also introduced to gaming with the 2600 (and it STILL works, mind you, albeit the controllers are hit & miss). I had an old shoebox full of games. To this day, I can still hand people their asses at Fast Food. From there, I moved on to the original NES. I also rode my bike many feet (actually, at least a mile) to rent a game... but unfortunately, it was Uncanny X-Men.

• Radio Shack Pong I tell's ya! And then Dad got real fancy and got me a bonafide Intellivision to play poker and Battle Tanks. Now THAT was high tech!! And I still so miss you, Discs of Tron.

• My extended family had gaming systems, whereas I had a PC and played online on various BBS's. My grandma had a SNES, my cousin had everything Sega. I didn't get my first system until the mid 90s with the Sega Game Gear. After that, I had the Sega Saturn in 1998 (shortly before its death), which was a great system. My gaming list: PC Game Gear Saturn Game Boy Color PlayStation Game Boy Advance PlayStation 2 Xbox 360 Original NES (bought from The Exchange) Nothing wrong with starting on a later system and still having nerd cred. It's when you start on the PS during its death when you don't deserve the cred and are just a playa.

• I grew up on a bootleg NES system call the Reggie's Entertainment System. It played bootleg cartridges such as "Batman and Flashman" and other games I can't remember because they were still in Japanese. It was also so poorly made that just touching it during gaming would make it reset. And don't let it touch the carpet or it will short out. Good times, good times...

• See, now I grew up on the NES, my younger brother on the SNES, and my youngest brother on the PS1. They don't know how good they had it, I tells ya! Why, I had to ride my bike 500 feet in nice weather to get to a video store and rent <i>Ducktales</i>!
