• Just think of it as a super secret government base that hides giant humanoid robots that save humanity. They've actually gone and made figures of sections of the base itself.

• I gotta say... This is brilliant and I am damn tempted to get them all. I have never seen this done. It's like a set of figures based on architecture! I love it! Eva had such unique designs all around. You of course see the characters and the mechs, but now they have the buildings and giant sets as figures? Brilliant. Geez. I kinda want a Batman Batcave version of this now. The giant penny, the Bat computer, the dinosaur.

• Resemblance to Ra's ship in Stargate? You mean... A pyramid? And really, anime isn't all shit. Sure a ton of it is, but not all. And certainly not Evangelion. Evangelion was my gateway anime.. and really.. I don't know if anything has quite matched it. Maybe I like some other anime better, but something about Eva is just so unique even among anime. And belive me, there are a ton of Evangelion clones and wannabes in anime. It was the big hit anime of the 90s and then tons of copycats tried to recapture it and never did.

• I lugged that huge bastard back from Japan after picking it up in an amazing store. I saw it, my hands went out and I couldn't let go of it until I got to the cash register. Got him up in my room right now. And technically it's Japanese Diablock, not Lego. So the bricks are a little bigger and funky like Mega Blocks, but it's official Eva merch, so it's still cool.

• I've never heard of a retail pack not having the entire set, unless the pack has less boxes than there are figures in the set. The only exceptions to this are special chase figures.

• I couldn't disagree more! While it did miss out on some character development, which is a near-unavoidable casualty with film adaptations, I felt it focused the characters more sharply than their original iterations. Shinji became more assertive, Asuka less angry, Rei more outgoing, without changing who they really were. We learned a lot more about the secondary effects of Second Impact, too, and got a better look at the politics surrounding Nerv. It may not replace the original series, but I think it's an excellent companion to it.

• 2.5" to 5" maybe? I don't collect them...just saw it on a few sites because I wondered the same thing! I kept thinking, "you know, this base look bad ass with the old 8" figures they produced."

• Maybe he can review it for Fan Fiction Friday, 'cause 2.0 pretty well sucks. The battle scenes are awesome, but everything else is a mess. It somehow manages to feel like more of a clip show than the first movie, which was literally a clip show.
