• Regardless of feelings about the "look" (and I think they got it *almost* right) the problem I fear is that January Jones does not have the necessary gravitas, the regal charisma, the 'to-the-manor-born' kind of energy the role demands. Cold, pinched, deadpan or bitchy does not make an Emma Frost. There is actually a difference, character-wise (in my humble opinion) between being "bitchy" and being a Bitch.

• I think casting January Jones as The White Queen is a bad idea. I've been a fan of Emma since she joined the X-Men and think she made a better match for Scott than Jean. Sure, Mrs Jones plays a cold hearted blonde bitch to a T on Mad Men, but that's it. Emma is deeper than that, and January doesn't have the acting chops (or the looks, judging from that photo) to portray Ms. Frost. If there truly is a God, JJ will get replaced by Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie or Kiera Knightley.

• Every new bit of news on this movie is more laughable. I may watch it just for shits and giggles.

• Unlike a lot of comics nerds I don't get mad when super hero movies don't follow the comics to the letter. I prefer to think of the movies as an alternate universe with it's own history. The one thing I do expect from movies is that they be consistent with their own continuity. We've already seen Emma Frost in Wolverine and she looked to be about 17 or so in what would have been 79. How the hell is she supposed to <i>older</i> back in the early 60's!? Are we going to find out that she ends up having two daughter and names one after herself and that girl grows up to have the same fucking powers? Seriously what the hell Fox. I don't expect you to be a slave to 40 plus years of comics stories, but is it too much to ask that you keep your own shit straight?
