Incidentally, Wizard Entertainment has announced that they'll be starting a "digital magazine" called Wizard World in February. Since the one thing Wizard has never figured out is how the internet works, I'm not holding my breath for a return to glory. But I would like to call out the gutless shitweasels in charge of the company who had the unmitigated hubris and bastardry to issue a press release today, heralding both the announcement of "Wizard World" and that Wizard is now being publicly traded without ever mentioning the cancellation of either magazine, or the god-knows-how-many people they laid off. Not only it is callous and classless, telling people they should invest money in their company ON THE SAME DAY THEY CANCELED THEIR TWO MOST VISIBLE PRODUCTS... well, that sums up Wizard Entertainment more than anything.
More links from around the web!

My favorite part of this whole fiasco was shelling out for a 2 year subscription in December. Needless to say, I never got a single issue. And of course, they're keeping all of my money.
-
Does anyone know what their doing with their charlee Flatt Figures? Myself and a few others are very interested in buying them. I also run the only website on the net that has pictures of Charlees figures. (see my URL). If someone could contact me I would appreciate it. Thanks Greg Turpin gregt@aupublishing.net

I used to love Toyfare and read it from the first issue. Going to to my local comic shop to find the new issue was something I looked forward to… for a time. As a collector I found it to be a useful tool in the trade. The magazine was about TOYS. There was a price guide was about TOYS and Toyfare was full of articles and previews about TOYS! You see a theme here? It worked. Simple. Done. Wizard press was able to sell thier magazine and collectors and fans of toys had something tangible to aid in thier hobby. But that must not have been good enough for Wizard because at some point the higher ups thought it was a good idea to cut back on the jokes (granted not everyones' taste) then reduce the price guide before slashing it all together. Remember the price guide, useful thing it was? But they were not finished with bad management ideas yet. They reduced the amount of previews and even the articles. About toys at least. You could always read an article about custom making doll heads or whatever article was thrown in about the staff member of the weeks overall greatness! Hey look the editor wrote a book, so and so took a vacation..etc. Who cares? If you feel you personal life is that interesting thats what Facebook is for! They took away everything that made Toyfare Toyfare and wonder why sales were dropping. So Gareb, when you load a gun, point it at your foot and pull the trigger you shouldnt be surprsised when your foot is gone. Dont ask "What the hell just happened?" and look for sympathy. It's unfortunate that there are people out of a job because of the end of the magazine. Even more with todays economy. While it's true you can surf the web for info on new toys it's not the same thing. Let us only hope someone comes to fill the void and avoids the mistakes made by Toyfare.

BOO!
-
Hey Vince, I've been trying to get a hold of you for the longest time about those Ghostbusters figures you're making for me. Please e-mail me back as soon as possible, if you get this responce. Thanks, Rick-E :-p
-
while i am sad to see it go, this magazine dies when robot chicken took all of the good writers/editors. I talked to a guy who used to work for the magazine and essentially he said it was one guy in a room, taxed with making the entire thing by himself. The mag hasnt been good for a few years, but the "incoming" section kept me coming back for more. I won "letter of the month" once and received 2 star wars Clone Wars Maquettes for my efforts. its why i collect toys, why i know how to grade action figures, and where i got so much good info on the toy scene. It will be missed.

Crap in a hat :(

IS NOTHING SACRED IN NERDDOM!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!!?? I remember really getting into toy collecting through Toyfare way back in middle school, as soon as I read Twisted ToyFare Theater with Mego Spidey's house being infested by Cobra troopers I was hooked-even if I didn't understand the "adult" jokes or comic book references at the time. Man I remember Big Shots being in the price guides, that one article about this new Japanese model kit toy robot thing called "Gundam"-oh man such sweet memories, the 10 hottest toys of the month.Although to me that mag was never the same after they canceled Big Shots, cut down TTT, and upgraded to the "actual magazine sized paper", but I still stuck by them...jesus that Starscream's takeover TTT was funny, fucking funny I say. Although I always have Robot Chicken (aka TTT in TV form) and some of the TTT volumes, but its just not the same without Mego Spidey. Oh god, I'm actually gonna tear up and cry and I don't cry that easily. Excuse me for my tearful ramblings but I must re-read all of my Toyfare issues in memorial and maybe hold a funeral with my Megos, anyone of you guys is welcome to attend the service.
-
I don't mourn Wizard. I think I've bought like 5 or 6 issues of Wizard in the past 15 or so years. But Toyfare? Man! I love Toyfare. I've been collecting it almost from the begining, and have been subscribed to it for the past 6 years. And even though I get most of my toy news from the Internet, there was the occasional figure or line that would fly below the radar (to me) up until I read a news article in Toyfare or it was announced in their "upcoming" section. Sad to see Toyfare go. -airfox
-
I think a little bit of me has died inside. I have been a fan since I first discovered Toyfare in Forbidden Planet Glasgow. It was issue #91 (It's not as well known or as available here in the UK) and I've been buying it ever since, even trying to get hold of all the back issues I've missed. It's the only Magazine I have ever collected, and now I have NOTHING. Thanks, Wizard, really. I feel all alone in my pain over here. At least we still have Topless Robot, a place I may have never discovered if it wasn't for Toyfare. I think the spirit of Toyfare still lives on here. Keep up the good work, Rob.
-
If it wasn't for Toyfare, I wouldn't have found this site. Where shall I go now for photo comics involving a snarky Meego Spider-Man and his possibly gay chum Thor? RIIIIIchards!
-
It's weird, Bush and Obama appearing in the strip is controversial, but when they make fun of THOMAS JEFFERSON with a racial joke, no one complains. The guy wrote the Declaration of Independence, yet he's somehow the least controversial character mocked in the strip.
-
This really stinks! I just renewed my subscription to Toyfare for a year and the check already cleared the bank. They didn't even send me this month's issue, which I've already seen in comic speciality shops. You would think the least they could have done would be to let their fans know what they were going to do before pulling the plug... no warning at all.
-
Well, it's the passing of an era with ToyFare and TTT for me. I was always a fan of TTT from back in the day when it was Twisted Mego Theater. The humor was priceless and a great contrast to my fond Mego superhero memories. "Megos After Dark". A kind of mish mash of the basest humor tinged with grown up Toy Story type wish fulfillment. What did your Mego heroes get up to when you weren't watching? In Mego Spider-Man's case, not a helluva lot. I come here today to both praise and bury ToyFare. I started customizing action figures over 15 years ago, and loved seeing unique customs featured in Homemade Heroes and TTT. I admired Charlee Flatt's work and drew inspiration from his detailed art. I loved seeing his customs in the pages of ToyFare, and I often wondered what it would take to become part of that world. Then, in the immortal words of Kevin Flynn, "one day….I got in". There was an ad in the letters pages that asked for customizers to submit their work and perhaps create some new figures for upcoming TTT stories. I leapt at the chance and sent along some pictures of my work. They saw some potential in my early rough attempts, and asked me to create my first TTT custom, Electro. Thus began a relationship that spanned over 10 years with more requests coming my way for characters that were understandable (Nick Fury, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Vulture) to ones that came straight from the land of WTF (Klaw, Tarantula (pointy "chews"), Batroc the Leaper(!). Each was a challenge and a joy to create, continuously pushing my skills and creativity with each one. I was even able to get some articles and features published along the way, thrilling me to no end as I was a "published" author. In fact, I'm honoured to say that my last custom was featured in what will now be known as the final print edition of ToyFare magazine. A simple Green Man figure, with a full page spread and a bold credit under the title. I wish it had been something more elaborate, something more suited to finishing off the run with a bang, but it was quiet, understated and a fitting epitaph. I'm not sure where TTT fits in to the new digital media landscape, but there's always hope I can be a part of it. I met with some wonderful ToyFare associates over the years, from Zach, Adam, Justin, and recently Carlos. While ToyFare was always a bit of a lark for me, it was their jobs and passion. I want to acknowledge that, and salute everyone who made this magazine for the rabid fanbase they helped cultivate over the years. ToyFare is dead, long live Toyfare. Peace.
-
Thanks man! It's always great to know that your work was appreciated by your peers!
-
Just admit it already, you wanna get tea-bagged by Obama.
-
It was more than that and across the board. While he may have been comedy gold you lost gold with me and several people. It may not seem like much but a lot of people noticed. Considering the bigger & far reaching disaster we have now, I miss him too.
-
Gutless shit weasels my new favorite swear too. Just ordered 2 Toyfare subscriptions as gifts. Gutless shit weasels!
-
This has always been a good seller at my store, sadly, so it feels rather strange to see it go. One less magazine for me to stock, but it always bugs me when one of the GOOD titles goes.
-
For years, every time I see Ram Man, I've thought about this Toyfare letter. Damn you, Nitra Bropson.
-
I've ALWAYS hated Gareb Shamus. I WAS collecting comics in the 90's. I picked up the first copy of Wizard from the stands and just sort of stared at it. Checking the price guide I just blinked and shook my head. It was wish fulfillment for speculators. Shamus and Wizard fed the speculator frenzy that almost killed the comics industry after the Death of Superman. Their relentless pounding of variant issues, high gloss swag, cards and fucking POGS was to comic book stores what Hip Hop on the juke box is to a good dive bar. It just brought in the wrong crowd for the wrong reasons, and Shamus enriched himself and created an image of himself as the Warren Buffet of geekdom, when in fact he was the Donald Trump. Until I found Twisted Mego Theater, later TTT, I had NO use for the entire company. I do not mourn it, and I just shrug at the cavalier nature of Shamus and his backers destroying their flagship, laying everyone off and opening their hands for more more more dough. It's exactly what he'd do. If that fucker ever gets ahold of San Diego, I'm blowing myself up right in the middle of Artist's Alley. Four worst things to happen to comics: 1. Marvel purchasing Heroes World 2. Gareb Shamus 3. Diamond's new minimum threshold 4. Speculators fleeing the collapsing sport card and Beany Baby market for comics.
-
I can't believe none of these posts start out with WHOSE RESPONSIBLE THIS?! I started reading Wizard with issue 12 and subscribed loyally until about two years ago when I went and got myself broke. And Toyfare was right there along with it. I recall many days in art class reading Wizard while everyone else painted plastic azaleas. Going to miss 'em.
-
hell yeah, this is really sad. My favorite issue when I was a kid was when mego spiderman instructed the audience on what the difference was between mint action figures on card ment ( and then proceeded to show what wasn't considered mint.) this is surprisingly depressing news
-
Sad, very sad. On the other hand, "Gutless shitweasel" is now my new favorite swear.
-
Hey, it got him in the magazine.
-
No, no I did not. Do you think it would have helped if I had?
-
I hate this. I hate this. I hate this. Even if the internet offered quick blurry pics of upcoming waves of figures, Toyfare was something wonderfully tangible, something real and physical that you could flip through over and over again. It's the argument Giles offered to Jenny Calender in BtVS about books versus computers. Knowledge should be tangible and physical and smelly at times.
-
Though I will very much miss TTT, and hate to see so many guys looking for work in this shit economy, I hope that this will encourage Gareb Shamus to just ......stop. Eating up the countries Cons and replacing them with his shows is a crap move that will result in him going bankrupt and making Cons that are truly about comics go the way of the Betamax.
-
CCCCCCCCOMBOBREAKER! what's copy edit?
-
I bought a Toyfare for the first time in about 2 years about 5 months ago. I was pissed to see that I paid the same for half the magazine and no price guide anymore. Not even a good full visual of a run like they use to have. When I use to get Toyfare every month I never felt like I was just buying an extended ad, the half-a-Toyfare I did. I was not happy
-
well, that fucking blows.
-
And M.O.D.O.K. doesn't have a tailpipe. H.e.r.b.i.e. never had a telephone installed, either.
-
Sixth-ed
-
I landed on TR thanks to ToyFare, so there's that. This makes me wanna kick myself (or worse) for the last two years I didn't spend grabbing new issues. I'm seriously gonna miss this. A final tip of the hat to the ToyFare staff.
-
What the F#@% Wizard?!? Toyfare was the only magazine I bought every month. Damn you you blew it all to Hell!
-
This sucks!I am only 3 issues into my 2 yr sub! They better be offering a Refund!
-
Don't forget about when H.E.R.B.I.E. administered his "<i>banana</1> to the The Human Torch. LOL
-
you want to know what makes me really mad.... i still have a over a year left on my subscription to Toyfare... I have read this book since issue 8 (Spiderman goes NWO). I truly did look forward to this. Dont worry Wizard wont get my money again for anything.
-
And to think, I was going to re-up my subscription for another two years tomorow. That saved me about $40. Thanks Topless Robot!
-
Honestly, the political bickering is ridiculous. It's not Toyfare's fault that Dubya was a comedy goldmine. And the Bizarro Obama strip was hysterical. Lighten up Frances! I've got the last 3 issues waiting for me in my bathroom. I'm just waiting for my next visit to Taco Bell to do them justice. Good times, good times indeed.
-
Damn. That's a real shame. Twisted Toyfare Theater is the original source code for Robot Chicken, and for that I owe many thanks and gratitude. I remember the first time my friend (who I joke is my 'Culture Dealer')showed me one of the TTT issues. Wonderfully irreverent satire that just hit the perfect intersection of my own comic nerdery and the best R-rated slapstick. The web did take their lunch money, though. Time was that if you wanted to know what was the line up from Toy Fair for new figures, exclusives, etc, you needed to wait for print. Now, half of the designs show up as quick phone camera shots within half an hour after the door opens, and that doesn't include shots of prototypes sent from China. After that, how many folks will fork out for a print publication, rather than just go back to their favorite two dozen sites in the browser.
-
Fifthed.
-
The fact that when he dies his pockets are full of cake was just one more gag that made the strip great. Along with "War is Hell", "Catina", "Get Smart!" and "Four Webbings and a Funeral", that strip is one of my all-time favorites. Yes, I have a list.
-
Did you ever inquire about toys the shape of suppositories? http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/1239315710048775982EpXbAU
-
I'd like to say thanks to: Justin Aclin Rob Bricken, Vince Callaghan, Sean T. Collins, Charlee Flatt, Doug Goldstein, Jon Gutierrez, Bill Jensen, Andrew Kardon, Pat McCallum, Zach Oat, Tom Palmer Jr, Adam Patyk, Rickey Purdin, Tom Root, Matthew Senreich, Paul Schiraldi, Chris Ward and everyone else involved for making "Twisted ToyFare Theatre" so consistently great over the past 14 years. I grew up with those strips, buying those issues and wanting a Dr. Doom Mego.
-
Damn, this is just a sad sad day. Really ToyFare is what I have to thank for getting me to read. I had issues with it when I was very young, then the first issue of ToyFare came out and I got so excited by the AT-AT cover I focused hard on learning to read so I could do more than look at the pictures in all the issues, of which I own everyone. Still remember their odd Marvel vs Capcom figure coverage where they beat MegaMan with a hammer.
-
Sob! NOOOOOOO!!!! I started buying the mag as a price guide for my collectibles appraisal job, and continued reading it for the fun and funny comment balloons, upcoming releases, amazing information and ads, as well as Twisted Toyfare. I can't even.... Man....
-
Dam hate to see Toyfare go for liked the magizine including twisted toy fare theatre. hope Wizard knows what they are doing by killing toy fare. or at least includes a digitial version. rip toy fare you now get to make toy fans in heaven happy.
-
someone has to make a petition against this NOW
-
Mego Spidey :"what are you a Doctor of?" Doc Ock : "Gravy" (For full comedic effect, you have to make sure you use the Efrim Zimbalist Jr. version from the Fox/Disney XD version of Doctor Octopus.) "That is gonna be one, dusty baby" I can safely surmise, that if it hadn't been for Twisted Toyfare Theater,Robot Chicken would still be exist only as an item on some obscure restaurant's menu to this day.
-
I have to say, I kinda got tired of the sudden heavy political nonsense that would take over Twisted Toyfare Theater from time to time. It got old and just wasn't funny. Combine that with the ever increasing use of Photoshop instead of the always funny 'take a Mego figure that's sort of close to what's needed and call it good' approach and it just lost some bite, some nerd love. Oh, sure, Photoshopping figures of various sizes into 'mego scale' and 'shopping heads on otherwise normal mego bodies clearly opens up options but...It's just not as funny! And yeah, it's cheaper than the custom megos that showed up, I get that. but it's just not as INSANE as pantless Spock, 'neddkit at the drop of a tribble' Kirk, "Grrrrr Hulk Smash...one out in hot tub" Hulk and of course, Doctor Doom. RICHAAAAAAAADS! Man I miss that nonsense. Megos acting badly. *sigh* Thankfully I get some of that vibe from It's All True.net

Kalamazoo doesn't exist. Since the loss of York Steak House and Rider's Hobby and the Star World Arcade, Kalamazoo vanished off the face of the Earth as if kidnapped by Doctor Doom. Just sayin' is all.
-
Yeah, the "Mayordent" political strip with Jefferson, Bush and Schwarzenegger was great. Though I loved the "Bizarobama" strip they did a year ago. Also, the strip with Mego Dock Ock marrying Mego Aunt May belongs in the Smithsonian. But my fvorite moment had to be the Hulk his butt getting stuck in a manhole on New Year's Eve, Dr. Doom stuck in a bus with Bizarro, who urgently insists that he "Not have to go bathroom." Actually, I could go on and on about my favorite gags: "Yeah, that's right...work the parapet", "I'm God-Is-Dead Smurf!", The Borg learning how to block a doorway, etc. etc. etc. Thanks ToyFare!
-
I'll miss it terribly. I have every issue, and the little suplements that came with some of the early ones. Shit, I bet I have the posters from the early years, too. This sucks, and My subscription is hasn't run out, either.
-
That's a good point. It was Toyfare where I first heard of Topless Robot! Well, at least we still have TR.
-
Ah, yes, Kalamazoo! That was good times! I also always loved the TTT comics about Captain Kirk.
-
Really sad to hear it, Toyfare was the only thing left in my comic store file, I've been there since the first issue. It was always a fun read right to the bitter end. I've never thrown an issue away either. Thanks to the folks at ToyFare, I'll miss you.
-
Rob, do you have any linkage on the announcement?
-
Fourthed.
-
I've followed Toyfare since the beginning and I'm really, really sad to see it go. As a toy collector with a sense of irreverence, it was the perfect magazine for me. I had always hoped to write for it, but it never came to pass, aside from a few letters they printed from me waxing on about important topics such as Dukes of Hazard and Dazzler. I feel for the staff and do agree that Wizard was pretty shitty in this whole deal.
-
Thirded.
-
Mayordent Bush was awesome. So was that bad-@$$ Papa Smurf, who came to kick smurf, and chew bubble-smurf;knowing full well,he was all out of bubble-smurf.
-
What a crappy way to start a week. I still read through my old copies of Toyfare once in a while. You could sense that the end was coming though. It just didn't seem as funny as it used to be, or I just got old. Thank you everyone at Toyfare.
-
I just picked up TF issue #163. Is that it or will there be a "final issue"? Man, this both sucks and blows.
-
Rest in peace Toyfare. We'll always have Sporks and Robot Crotches.
-
"Since the one thing Wizard has never figured out is how the internet works..." You're telling me. When I was a kid, I used to be on their message board back in the late '90s. It was a gigantic fucking mess. Two moderators, +15 forums, posts literally pouring in every second in some places, people who put ENTIRE MOVIE SCRIPTS in their sig (supposedly one guy had the entire Transformers the Movie script). Nuts, man.
-
I once wrote a letter specicifically to Tom Root about all the things we had in common based on things he talked about in the letters column. I just thought Tom Root was so cool because he did the letters column in a toy magazine. Also in every letter I ever wrote to ToyFare I talked about myself in the third person. I'm not sure if that helped or hurt my chances.
-
Seconded.
-
In ToyFare, I think we made fun of George Bush in TTT once. Is that what you're talking about? It's a shame you let that sway you. That man was a comedy gold mine. I miss him a little.
-
Picking letters for the lettercol (which got shorter and shorter as the years went by) was always tricky. I picked them for a while, then Tom's successor had to do it. Unless it was an entertaining letter or the answer to your question was attainable and informative, it was a long shot to get in. We never ran letters that were just compliments on the magazine or on specific articles.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (do not want)
-
Fuck you. I try to avoid flame wars, but...just go fuck yourself with a rusty crowbar.
-
Bingo!
-
I think Greg Easton nailed it. I stopped reading both magazines a long time ago when they stuffed in politics a little too often for my tastes in their rags. I voted with my wallet like many others I know. (Same goes for Marvel comics too!) Can anyone really be surprised by both outcomes? 90-95% of their info was outdated by the time it hit the stands and the support from the comic publishers at the Wizard World conventions dramatically declined (Marvel/DC does not even show up in Chicago anymore). I was a huge fan in the early days of TF but once they veered too far left in the early/mid 2000's and the info was available online for free/more up to date they lost me. Not surprised or sad. For those who were loyal it's always hard to lose a staple. Like the newspaper, it has became nothing more than bird cage liner. Content matters, they neglected. On top of that the internet made it inevitable that it would die. Even on the web they lost their position as "The Toy News" source a very long time ago.
-
You should see the prices in the Toy Wiz brick and Mortar store! Nuts
-
It was great back in the mid-to-late 90's, when there was no readily available good toy collecting magazine* but the internet rendered magazines like it moot. *Anyone who thinks Lee's Action Figure News is a good magazine is probably a scalper/reseller without internet access. And Tomarts was impossible to find in some areas.
-
Too bad they didn't teach Rob how to copy edit.
-
fuck. i read wizard since issue 1, and transitioned to toyfare as my hobby changed from comics to toys. i just picked the latest issue on saturday. in fact, if it wasn't for them mentioning topless robot in one of their issues a couple years ago, i never would've found this site. i don't know what toy publication will be able to fill the vacuum toyfare's demise will leave behind. rest in peace, old friend.
-
This really, really sucks. Toyfare was the one Wizard magazine I liked, and something I'd look forward to each month. If it wasn't for Toyfare, I never would have collected Legends or DCUC or started watching Venture Bros. A sad farewell to a truly great nerd publication.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This was one of the most integral parts of my childhood. The TTT's, the short lived Newspaper section (Those comics By Ryan Dunlavey were hilarious!)and EVERYTHING else will be missed.I always wanted to write in and perhaps be in the hall of fame next to the people from Kalamazoo and others. Toyfare is dead, long live Toyfare!
-
I've been reading ToyFare since the beginning and I still have every issue. It was such an awesome mag and will be greatly missed. This is a sad day indeed.
-
Oh my god. I was sad at the Wizard closing but I'm downright devastated about the Toyfare news. I feel like a piece of my just died. I have boxes filled with Toyfare's. They were my favorite.
-
They died with the Pinpal Moe debacle. Someone just finally removed the head from this zombie of a magazine. I wonder what Toywiz.com will do without his brother rigging the price guide.
-
What a shame. Guess it's time to finally drop a few bucks on those Twisted Mego Theatre trade paperbacks.
-
So, what'll happen to TTT now? I mean, they did lose a bit of spark with adding unnecessary multi-parters, shortening the stories, adding an unnecessary continuity and just plain neglecting some characters (flamboyent Thor) but they'll still reprint some in trades, right? ...Right?
-
WELL CRAP!
-
That's a damn shame. It also doesn't surprise me. Pretty much every time I bought an issue of Toyfare in the last 2 or 3 years, I was surprised to see it was still being published. It'll be missed.
-
CRAP IN A HAT!!! this sucks. I've been reading and collecting Toyfare since issue #1. This is a dark day indeed. Hopefully Twisted Toyfare Theater will carry on in print is some fashion.
-
I wrote some letters to ToyFare when I was a kid reading it. I remember talking to Tom Root at Wizard World Chicago one year at the Wizard Wheel and asking him about it. He told me my letters probably not very good so that was why they never appeared in the letters column. It was disappointing and awesome at the same time.
-
I agree man. This is a terrible day indeed. If it wasn't for Toyfare I wouldn't be in the Hobby and certainly wouldn't be making custom figures. I've been reading Toyfare since the very first issue. Once upon a time I was being considered to write the article, Homemade Heroes. That was back in 1998. Thats a bad sign for a hobby I love so much.
-
I'll miss Wizard, but Toyfare much more, as that was the one I actually bought. From the beginning, until the very end, whenever that may be. I had hoped to one day see a work of mine published within its pages, but that dream is now dashed.
-
This sucks even more than the cancellation of Wizard. While Wizard was what got me started, ToyFare was the magazine that influenced my sense of humor. ToyFare was the magazine that was never dull. ToyFare was the magazine that published my letters. On top of that, there was a great little joke going about how my home town of Kalamazoo, Michigan didn't exist. ToyFare was the heart of the company. To lose it as well is a huge blow. I can't believe that from now on when I go to the comic store every week there won't be any magazines for me to buy. This is a dark day indeed.
-
I never stopped buying ToyFare. I never stopped believing in Mego Spiderman. After all with great power comes GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE.
-
aww come on Toyfare and Twisted Toyfare Theater is the best. now what am I gunna read in the bath tub.
-
I love the tags for this column: Death, sadness, WIZARD. If only it was Wizards and then maybe unicorns. When wil we see these three tags again? But as for the magazines, yea I loved Toyfare but stopped buying after a while and started getting all my news online. Even when they scored a Mattel exclusive, you could find a scan of the image by the end of the day. I don't know why they didn't go the WIRED route and offer a digital magazine for each b4 axing the entire concept
-
Fuck. Just...fuck. I loved Toyfare.
-
This sucks. I've been reading ToyFare since day one. I still have 9 issues left in my current subscription. Bummer.
-
Damn it! Now this makes me mad. Hulk SMASH!!!
-
Well, crap. I was hoping that this would survive. Twisted Toyfare Theater is still one of my favorite things. Thanks for the memories, Wizard. Wish you could have had a little more class in the way you went out, though.
