Everyone Laughed their ass off at the pencil trick at some point.
-
by the way, Romero and I both happen to be Cuban :D
-
There is a school of thought--and I unfortunately can't remember who said this--that, when The Joker is laughing, he should be the only one doing so (because whatever he's laughing at is horrifying to a sane person). That said, I did kind of laugh my ass off at the pencil trick.

It's a teaser trailer for gawd's sake!!! I think the trailer will show much more
-
While I'm definitely concerned about some of the changes that are going to be made, I'm actually really enjoying the Flashpoint story itself, so I'm trying to give DC the benefit of the doubt about September. It's not all bad. Detective Comics is having a fabulous run at the moment. I feel like DC is creating a bad impression of itself by doing press releases of their worst ideas.

After being raised on TAS, it was a big disappointment to me to discover that no one in the comics other than Paul Dini writes the Joker as funny. He's terrifyingly insane, sure, but never funny - and it's years after BTAS proved that he could be both. The Joker should be funny.
-
Also, I think at least one of the shots (Bane climbing the wall with his bare hands) may have come from the "Mystery of the Batwoman" movie.
-
It had its weak moments. But those can be easily ignored.
-
Like a lot of people I consider the DCAU to be the new official continuity, yep. Which is why they had to die or be reined in by the executives and made to be pimped for the corporate art. (But it's also why their little short films, attached to those DVDs, are widely regarded as being better by and large than the main features. Although, to their credit, they do as well as they can with the material given to them, too.)
-
EXACTLY!!!!! Teasers are about establishing an emotional tone. No one should be surprised if the (official) teaser is largely met with mehs.
-
And yet it's better. Why? Because the whole attitude of the piece is 1000% improved. Gordon's near-illegible fruffering is still the weak point, but it's more tolerable in a teaser that isn't 80% sad, weak, terrified defeat (with a few scattered memories of the glory days.)
-
It kinda irks me when people call a teaser a "trailer." Because it leads me to believe they don't know or are forgetting the difference and are basing their opinion on something that is far, far from a final product.

SHOOOOOOOOOCCCKKKK!!!!
-
I would be a lot more excited for TDKR if it was done in B:TAS style. That "is" Batman to me, nothing against any other versions. I didn't care for Batman Begins. TDK was pretty good but I've not felt the need to see it more than once. TDKR looks, at least at first glance, like it will be better than either of the other two Nolan Batman movies. I'll probably see TDKR, but only when it hits the $1.50 theater.
-
I miss B:TAS. The entire (DC) universe makes so much more sense back then. -sigh-
-
CRY TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOOON!! XD
-
Considering what DC is doing right now? Yup. I think that's about right.
-
Bane was climbing a wall. With his bare hands. By slamming his fingers into the wall. BAD. ASS. That is all.
-
Man, dad can never catch a break.
-
It's like they knew about the DARK KNIGHT trailer edits everyone did and decided to make this one more challenging, but someone already aced it.
-
oh man... that was good...
-
MTE! *Plays 90's X-Men cartoon theme*
-
Utterly fantastic! I have nothing but love for the animated series.
-
I find both comfort and sadness in my belief that the Timmverse will be the best version of the DC Universe.
-
This is really well done. Amazing how most of the shots match exactly.
-
so kinky - but what do i expect from a man who wears leather and S&M gear :D
-
The DCAU makes everything and anything better
-
Holding it, sure. Whether or not it's attached to you is another story.
-
Ahhh, it's beautiful. Through the DCAU, Timm and Dini created a better Batman than even the comics or movies ever have, and that goes for many of the other DC characters too. The entire animated universe is just a truly amazing achievement. And Joker (you... mad.... miscreant?) I know when it comes to TR you favour Romero's portrayal, but you can't deny only Mark Hamill has ever truly captured your... unique personality.
-
The more I watch the new trailer, the more it feels like watching the movie is going to be like visiting a friend in the hospital... sad and worrisome.
-
that shot at the end is just perfect
-
NOW I want to see it!
-
This should be done with all comic/superhero films. Not.just 90's-ish, but just animated. *cough* Avengers*cough*
-
Not to be a negative Nancy. But it's lot's of BTAS / TNBA (90's) and with some Justice League, Batman Beyond and Batman: Under the Red Hood for good measure. Just sayin'
-
Everything is better done in the 90s animated style.
-
batsy, when I go for my colonoscopy, will you be holding my hand too?
