Assassin’s… Calibur?
Yes, Assassin’s Creed‘s Ezio Auditore has been revealed as a playable character in Soul Calibur V. While I’m still worried about the franchise’s overall downward trajectory in terms of quality, I do think this is awesome. He actually looks like a fun character to play, what with his sword, crossbow and hidden blades — kind of like Link from SCII, except he’s not a magic elf. And that’s what excites me the most, actually — he’s a bonus character from the same actual, general timeframe as the Soul Calibur series! He actually makes sense here! I don’t know how the gameplay will end up, but I’d say this is a very good sign. Thanks to Dongtacular for the tip.
