...please excuse me, as I need to go change my underpants. Infinite thanks to Mike S. for the tip.

i said they should do this about 5 years ago batman lego sucked
-
I would bet the lego figure is after he becomes gandalf the white.
-
Why did I buy a compact car. If I bought a SUV I could have lived in it and spent rent on Lego. If I spend car payment money I wont have anyway to get them. Its OK they still buy kidneys from alcoholics dont they.
-
Goodbye, tuition... hellooooo Lego!
-
Ah right. Yeah they do look a bit scaled down. Oh well, they look good anyway.
-
It strikes me as difficult to render the lip bite as a Lego face.
-
This has never stopped them before with Star Wars.
-
There is already, sort of, a 'Legolas' Lego man from one of the recent minifigures series: http://minifigures.lego.com/en-us/bios/elf.aspx
-
strange comment. As Legolas, he can't have a wide range of emotions. Now, a Bella from Twilight lego figure may as well be made of plastic. That woman truly has one single expression.
-
They GOT TO make a Witch-king of Angmar...
-
Judging by the small detail and the lighting, I'd say this is a promo shot of the CGI models for the upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings computer game.
-
True, the hobbits are not barefoot, but LEGO'd hobbit feet would be some sort of pixilated nonsense I think the world is better off not seeing.
-
Just what I needed, more toys to obsessively collect. By obsessively, I mean every figure from every line. It's been building now, for several years. I'm doomed....
-
They've really managed to capture Orlando Bloom's emotional range with the Legolas fig. Truly astounding.
-
...what, no LegoLegolas jokes?
-
This man speaks truth! My only hope is Travels Tales is somehow able to resist the urge to do a video game until next year so all 5 films can be represented in a single game.
-
The Gimli alone is worth it.
-
I want...nay NEED these for my office at work. And then I shall never get anything productive done ever again.
-
I need Lego Boromir just so he can double as Lego Ned Stark.
-
Gimli's helm is definitely the highlight so far.
-
Yes, I know about the piece - I still collect LEGO. The thing is, the torso and heads all look smaller. I'm willing to bet LEGO has not created a new torso and head piece that are slightly smaller than the regular minifig. If you put a minifig wearing a stubby (short leg piece) next to a standard fig you'll see they're not much smaller.
-
Scale is wrong. So wrong. ... ... ... ... ...but they're sooooo cute! :3
-
I know they look nice, but they don't have the same appeal to me as a mini figure.
-
Yeah, that IS weird, but better than what they could have done. Plus I like that it secures onto the hand so Frodo can carry it.
-
I would just like to point out one of the (hopefully) cutest features of this: teeny tiny Narsil.
-
I wouldn't really count on any Doctor Who from Lego as long as Character Building has the license. The good news however is, those building blocks are just as good as any other building block company, so you can still have your adventures with the Doctor and Frodo. Trust me, it's fun. I have the 11 Doctors set and everyone's wearing each other's clothes by swapping heads.
-
Further corroboration comes from the "Dwarf Warrior" in minifigure series 5. He also used the half-height, not articulated leg piece.
-
Yeah, the downside definitely IS you have to buy all the sets to get the full Fellowship. Which sucks because I want just these guys for the moment. Sets later.
-
If this comes out on my birthday, may God save my s/o.
-
With the expressions on Merri and Pippin's faces, I can't wait until people start making inappropriate stop motion animation of their "second breakfast."
-
I hope they have reversible heads, I also hope this mean we get more stuff from like this famous properties in the future, like Star trek and Doctor who.
-
Just realized my mistake. I meant to say Gandalf is SUPPOSED to have a blue hat. In the pic he obviously does not. I think I should sign up for a Disqus account just so I can edit my mistakes. >.>
-
I think they are using the short legs lego pieces, which have been used for figures like Yoda and Anakin Skywalker in recent years.
-
I normally hate the short legs on Lego minifigs as they don't flex at the hip like the normal ones do, but for hobbits, they're perfect! These look great! I was worried that they'd all look pretty similar, but after seeing this, I really want all of them.
-
"He wore a tall pointed blue hat, a long grey cloak, and a silver scarf. He had a long white beard and bushy eyebrows that stuck out beyond the brim of his hat." --The Hobbit Of course, Jackson didn't give Gandalf Eugene Levy-esque eyebrows of four inches either. However, I do think the movie's version is somewhere between grey and blue. Or else it changes color with all the color correction throughout the film. The first picture on this page has a grey hat, while the second is definitely blueish. http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Gandalf
-
Your display calibration must be off. Gandalf is most assuredly gray, hat and all.
-
Being that he's so cute, you have to imagine it in a cute little voice: "and my axe!"
-
So, will Lego Boromir have a vest or something you can put Lego arrows in? :D But seriously, I must have these.
-
These look great, though a bit odd with the photo editing, ie. the hobbits look much smaller than they will in the actual sets. The hobbits, Gimli and LEGOlas look outstanding, though Boromir looks a little off to me.
-
Welp. Between the comics line and this, I shall be poor but happy forever.
-
Sean Ben now with a super removable head! Yeah we need SoIF legos now.
-
Never browse TR in class....random screaming and cheering ensued.
-
OH I hope that I can get a Lego Sean Bean with out having to buy the super mega large set. I love legos but man when they are above $100 I have to back away.
-
One gigantic armband to rule them all. Doc
-
Must...... Have...... Gimli...... Doc
-
When I was little, I had some lego guys named Frodo and Gandalf, and two ponies called Shadowfax and Bill. You can guess what the dragon was called. So yeah, I'm kinda excited. Maybe a little. Just a smidge.
-
Holy hell, these have just made my nerd day. As my friend just put it after showing him this article: "THESE NEED TO BE ON MY DESK LIKE NOW".
-
My roommate just asked me what I was stupidly smiling about and I told her it was because of this post. She judged me accordingly. I'll be buying the crap out of these when they are released. And she won't be allowed to touch them, so there.
-
It'sssssss mine! I wantssssssss it! Give it to ussssssss!
-
Since we will be getting Lego LOTR sets in the coming months, and although it's inevitable, now somebody has to get crackin' on a game! Who agrees?
-
"...please excuse me, as I need to go change my underpants." My, my, looks like Rob is going to start cheating on Tron!
-
Omg, Gimli is adorable!!
-
HOLY. Wow. Awesome. I wonder how they'll do the Eye of Sauron though.
-
Pfft, Gandalf has a blue hat, and the hobbits aren't barefoot. Oh wait, no, that does not negate how *impossibly* awesome these are.
-
Fuck me, I wish I wasn't so poor. I'd be all over this like Kirk on an Orion slave girl.
-
I would buy a standalone Gimli. He's so cute.
-
They look good.
-
I am the proud father of two proto-nerds, ages 8 and 6. The three of us build Lego together almost every night. I think I can state, without fear of contradiction, that this is the best confluence of toy and movie EVER.
