Nerd Music Trifecta: Wordburglar, Gundam Wing, The Guild

I don’t know if you’d officially classify Wordburglar as nerdcore, but 1) this song and its video (featuring More or Les) are pretty damn nerdy, 2) the song is pretty damn awesome, and 3) he’s apparently a Topless Robot reader, so fuck yeah Wordburglar. If you prefer your rap to be more directly nerdy, you could do a lot worse than Richie Branson’s Gundam-specific “Wing Memories.” It is likely the only rap song in the history of the world to contain the line “Chop you, like an axe in the left hand of a Zaku,” ? which is fucking fantastic. ? Felicia Day and her Guild crew have released another music video, titled “I’m the One That’s Cool,” and it is honestly great. Seriously, It’s a great song. The chorus is amaaaaazzzingly catchy. I’ve been singing if for the last three hours, and I don’t mind in the least. It’s got a pretty epic ending, too.
