I highly recommend the musical "Starship" to anyone who likes bad (i.e. GREAT) science fiction movies and Disney. It's on YouTube like the other StarKid stuff.
The makers of the Harry Potter fan musical have set their eyes -- and ears, I suppose -- to making a Batman musical. As the audio snippet in this video indicates, it's going to be a rock opera that includes at least one song about young Bruce's parents getting gunned down in Crime Alley, and it's going to be fucking spectacular. It's also going to be extremely legally dubious, if the musical's "B@man" title is any indication. No offense to anyone, but I think I'm looking more forward to watching this on YouTube than I am The Dark Knight Rises. Infinite thanks to Rachel P. for the tip.
More links from around the web!
Well... In Germany, there is going to be a Batman musical called Batman Live, and I guess this does actually turn off the dark for Batman as well. They had a presentation in one of Germany's biggest shows some time ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
Interesting note: There was apparently a serious attempt to make a Batman musical some time ago. The results were...interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
I read in SFX magazine that the batman arena show that toured Britain made a lot of money!
Anyone know if this will this be at the Hoover Leppen Theater in Chicago, like other Starkid shows?
Or better yet, The Mayhem Of The Music Meister! Don't be afraid to dream a little bigger darling
Speaking of turn off the dark, anyone else catch the referance on 'The Simpsons' last night?
Rob... what the fuck is wrong with you that you are not excited for The Dark Knight Rises?!
I don't know about Rob, but the previews and teasers for TDKR turned me off to it. The more that was shown of the movie, the less I wanted to see it.
I'm totally excited for the movie, but I'm also totally willing to tease it. Even if it turns out AWESOME, I'm gonna be happy to tease it.
Mind you, IDEALLY, I want it to be a spectacular movie. Awesome. The greatest film EVER... and then right at the end, in the very last scene, neon lights turn on, Arnold Schwarzenneger walks in wearing his Mr. Freeze suit, says "Let's kick some ice!" and then the credits fade in to techno music.
Just to screw with people.
