No one wants to do this movie, I don't think anyone wants to see this movie. Sony is wise to shelve it.
It would be awesome to have GB back in some form, even a TV show, but not at the price of sullying the original.

@interloper I still think Ghostbusters 3 is still doable. Just, you know, without any of the original Ghostbusters. And now you may proceed to boo and hiss me off stage before I could explain my reasoning.
Considering they were only going to have the old cast there so they can go "we're too old for this" and hand the reins over to another set of people, I don't think it was ever going to be the sort of Ghostbusters movie we'd be interested in.
I think they need to pick a new set of actors who (1) would make good ghostbusters (2) have their own storyline that is well-written and entertaining and (3) does something new and interesting with the material. This all a very big ask and I doubt if anyone can pull it off, but it's what they need if this is going to be worth our while.
