Paul Rudd Vs. the Robot

I apologize if this is old news, but a friend sent this to me yesterday and I had to share. All you really need to know is that it's an abbreviated version of Hong Kong movie where actor Paul Rudd is a cop with huge blond hair who fights a robot. And Paul Rudd does kung fu. And it's real. Not a comedy. And it's unbelievably awesome.

You want more? Okay...apparently, Paul Rudd starred in Jackie Chan's Gen-X Cops 2: Metal Mayhem, a Hong Kong kung fu flick Jackie Chan was not in at all. It's an utterly serious action film, with Rudd in an utterly serious role -- he's badass American cop Ian Curtis, who thinks the Hong Kong police are pussies, but eventually learns to team up with them to stop a rampaging robot. Which might be the most awesome sentence I've ever typed.

But what blows my mind is that this film was made in 2000. Not 1995, as I had thought. 2000. Paul Rudd had that hair in the year 2000. More insanely, Rudd made this film -- for reason unknown -- just before Wet Hot American Summer. IMDB has no credits in-between. It's Strangers with Candy, Jackie Chan's Gen-X Cops 2: Metal Mayhem, then Wet Hot American Summer. If you'll excuse me, I need to lie down a while. (Via BuzzFeed)
