Want pics of Shout Factory's complete G.I. Joe DVD set? Hush, hush little bear -- I know you do. I have to tell you I wasn't that excited about the idea of another Joe footlocker-themed package, but given this thing opens into an old-school military radio/communicator or whatever the hell it is, I'm officially excited again. The other extras are equally magnificent: toy commercials, interviews with the voice actors, the original '63 Hasbro Toy Fair presentation of G.I. Joe (!!!), a live-action Joe fan film, and more. Plus, there will be the temporary Arashikage and Cobra logo tattoos, but coolest of all is a 1-gig dogtag/USB drive. Sure, it's kind of small, but you have to remember that every single file on the Joe's computer system in 1985 would have been only 212 meg. There are plenty more pics and details over at TV Shows on DVD.

Wow all that stuff is only $145? Seems like a pretty good deal granted I wasn't much of a fan of the show to be honest although I will still check out that new Resolute one

Where are you seeing Grid-Iron? That's Bazooka, who was a regular featured player in the first couple of seasons.
Looks like they got everyone important - the only Joe really missing from the ones shown is Hawk, and he wasn't featured in the first year. Rather have him on there than freaking Serpentor, though.
And it's still kinda funny how different animated Lady Jaye was from her figure.

I'm not really complaining but Bazooka and Gung-Ho? Look I can live with Shipwreck even if he's the most annoying character on the show, but I agree, Hawk should be there. Also, Lifeline should be there since that douche was a major player as the pacifist Joe. Come on, Gung-Ho, Bazooka, and Alpine got their asses handed to them by Nemesis Enforcer.
And if Serpentor is there, then even though many of us may complain Sgt. Slaughter should be there as well. He was a huge character much like that douche Shipwreck.
One the Cobra side, how about Zarana, Firefly, Dr. Mindbender, or Scrap-Iron. These Cobras were major players too or did they run out of discs?
Okay, in all seriousness Bazooka just sucks and some other Joe like Hawk, Doc, Lifeline, Quick Kick, or Torpedo would have been fine.
Other than these complaints this set is fucking awesome!!! Too bad the cartoon was super gay and retarded.
Marvel, please finish releasing the compiled versions of the classic Joe comics.

Oh yeah one more complaint, why isn't the Joe movie included? That technically ends the Sunbow involvement with GI Joe.

My guess is that it's tied up in legal issues - remember, they had to pull it from the DVD Battle packs for a reason that's still unclear, which usually means licensing problems. Whomever was supposed to distribute it in theatres before Hasbro pulled the plug probably has a hook into it.
