The Ghostbusters theme song played on Tesla coils by "The Masters of Lightning," a.k.a. Steve Ward, Jeff Larson & Dr. Zeus at something called DucKon 18 in Naperville, IL . The tip was from Jordan, but the article title was shamelessly stolen from Jordan by me.

Did they use lighting to "produce" this song for the NES game? Because it sounds JUST like it. I mean, how can you forget something that you listened to on a continuous loop for 6 hours?

I'm pretty sure there's a midi (or something) of that particular arrangement playing along with these coils. I recognized the NES music right away too :D As far as I know, tesla coils can't do the vibrato that you hear on the high whistle parts, or the percussion I'm hearing in there - and even if they are, these two coils are certainly not producing all those sounds.
Nonetheless, it's still awesome.

Dr. Egon Spengler: There's something very important I forgot to tell you.
Dr. Peter Venkman: What?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the streams.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Why?
Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad.
Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm a little fuzzy on the whole "good/bad" thing here. What do you mean, "bad"?
Hell that was cool!

Egon: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Ray: Total protonic reversal.
Peter: Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.
I loved that scene. And this was quite interesting.
