Holy fuck. After about a minute, when I thought things were getting a little too weird, things suddenly got really weird and I couldn't turn my head. Now, supposedly this is a Spanish game show -- any Topless Roboteers in foreign lands who can help us with this would be greatly appreciated -- but why the fantasy bent? Moreover, why the frog licking? The dancing midgets? What's with the weird orc guy who prances about? Is that girl crying? I think I'm going to grab a bottle of scotch +4 and see if I can make a saving throw to forget this little nightmare.

Hey! I am Mexican and I have played DnD since third edition came out, and also know a alot of guys and groups who play dnd (or any other rp games), dude i even run a fantasy larp at mexico city! So your coment of "I thought I was the only mexican that knew about DnD" sounds just offensive you know? If are a godam mexican why do you promote the image of your people being underdeveloped burrito-eating ignorants? And by the way the show actually sucks (not for being made in mexico, just because it actually sucks, it is not larping, personaly ive never seen the slightest bit of roleplaying in it)
-
On crack.
-
OMG, I thought there was nothing left for us mexicans to warp on TV. I was wrong, very very very wrong. Here I thought I was the only mexican that knew about DnD Now where's my burrito ... ah... I mean my bean and cheese wrap.
-
I'm so glad someone else recognized the Hook theme music except me! Its played towards the end. The big battle that rufio dies in...pre-rufio-death of course
-
did anyone else catch that they were totally playing the song from Hook. The one that's played at the end with the big battle?

"Did that girl really pick up a scorpion by it's tail with her mouth and then deposit it in another container?" She tried. I saw this video yesterday (at home) and was impressed by its insanity. Today I told my coworker about it (also a TR reader), but since we can't look at videos directly on TR but can sometimes pick them up on other sites, we went hunting for the video. We didn't find it, but we did find a handful of other videos from the show, one of which was a basic 'stunt' one of the teams was forced to do. Moving scorpions with their mouths. What the fuck. And the dude did pretty well about snatching that sucker up but the girl... well, she tried very hard and even dropped it on the ground once, but ultimately only succeeded in getting stabbed in the tongue. Yep. And I could not stop watching whatiswrongwithme?

"we do a lot of crazy shit here for a T-Shirt..." What, like analyzing all the Fan Fiction Friday in 2009 and finding the 10 most horrible ones among them? Asgaard has nothing on my pain. Though the shirt is pretty kickass.
-
Silver. Fuck. I was close.
-
Don't forget about collecting gold coins, like any good D&D group! If I translated that correctly. My Spanish is rusty.
-
This is exactly what I was thinking.
-
I'm concerned about the dancing hands. What fantasy is that from?
-
I have actually seen this show on one the local Latin stations. I totally thought it was a Spanish ripoff of Takeshi's Castle.
-
I feel violated.
-
LOL! The Moon team gets the beautiful fairy's support, while the Sun team gets the midgets' help. LMAO! Give me the purple outfit now!
-
Did that girl really pick up a scorpion by it's tail with her mouth and then deposit it in another container? That's messed. Also, I think I saw a midget K.K.K. dressed in black, which is confusing. Is he a Bizarro World version of the K.K.K. (C.C.C.?) in which whites hate themselves? All I know is that if I was attacked by a female Barbarian, I'd probably pop wood on national T.V..
-
WTF? Jungle Camp meets D&D meets Takeshi's Castle meets serious amount of drugs involved... now that I have seen it I can't stop giggling insanely...

With just a dash of Minisuka Police to provide your recommended daily allowance of girls terrorized by rats for the amusement of perverts.
-
The Queen Fairy is freakin hot!!!!!
-
ROB!!!!how could you this? the show is a fucking mock to all that is good in the world, i live in mexico where some bastard decide to ashame the holy name of asgard
-
It's more like Takeshi's Castle slash Fear Factor slash Medieval America Gladiators. With like a hit of acid or that hallucinogenic toad sweat.
-
well, isn't that just something....
-
I speak Spanish, I just listened to it all the way through and the "Fear Factor meets Legend of the Hidden Temple" is a pretty accurate description. As for the toad-licking shroom stuff, that's just acceptable cultural weird crap in central America.
-
What's even more odd is that they stole the theme music from Hook. I kept expecting Robin Williams to fly across the screen while that skunk headed boy screamed "Ru-fi-o!"
-
¡Hijo de su pinche madre! Dude! That is so awesome that I SWEAR MY PANTS JUST EXPLODED. YES. PANTS CAN EXPLODE.
-
Yeah, but don't get too attached, Fox is going to cancel it.
-
Not spanish, mexican, they tried combining a lot of stuff from different game shows into this. And it obviously was crap and did not last long on air. The fairy was hot though
-
Look at the Ground they are doing this on! Blue and red spaces? This is a real life Mario Party board!
-
we do a lot of crazy shit here for a T-Shirt... The show seems like the bastard child of El Gran Juego de la Oca (a Spanish Gameshow similar to Mario Party.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_gran_juego_de_la_oca and Legends of the Hidden Temple with a sprinkling of D&D seasoning.
-
To answer your questions: 1) They're crazy Mexicans. 2) They're crazy Mexicans.
-
My Ranger never had to lick toads.
-
Two things. One, I don't see why they named this show in reference to Norse mythology and then not have any Norse mythology present in the actual show. Two, I can't believe that there are people who will do that crazy shit for just ounces of silver.
-
this thing looks to be the love child of legends of the hidden temple and fear factor.which was what the execs who made this thing were proably watching for ideas
-
From the wiki: "Asgaard was a magical and fantastic world, a world where hags, mages, and fauns lived in harmony. But one day the evil forces of Mork took control of our world and now only the union of the two races of human beings will be able to bring it back into harmony. ..." Nanu Nanu!
-
Crazy mexicans, I love them. Asgaard is a game show, which gives their contestants silver. Fucking real to goodness silver if they do things right. Anyways, they have some sort of allies (the wizard, fairy, etc) and the evil guys are Trasgo (troll) and Mork (some sort of bald demon). The series is still ongoing as it seems...
-
So...Guillermo del Toro created a game show, and based it off of Legends of the Hidden Temple. Ooookayyy... Sabado Gigante!

This is what happens when you lick strange amphibians while watching Double Dare.
-
The trailer basically says that they are in a fantasy world called "Asgaard" and they have to get past many areas of the world, and face dangers untold to get to the evil boss. One team represents the sun while the other is the moon...and yeah, all those people will help them get through the game, lol
-
Legends of the Hidden Temple meets Fear Factor meets D&D meets Pan's Labyrinth
-
This actually reminds me of Legends of the Hidden Temple.
