Actually, it's my understanding that cats shit in the open as an assertion of dominance. Cat that bury their shit are doing in in part to not offend the dominant group member (usually the human). So if anyone's gonna lay down a "fuck you" shit in this scenario, it's Vader. In fact, consider yourself lucky if he doesn't just force toss you face-first into the business.

Cats are God's punishment, but I can't for the life of me figure out what we did to deserve them. They're the only animal you can lock out of the house for hours on end, listen to them paw at the door and beg for mercy and forgiveness, then saunter into the house like they own the place when you finally let them back in. Cats are awesome. Dogs are needy, slobbery, dumb animals that can't even go a day alone without being taken outside to pee or having their kibble bowl refilled because they panicked and scarfed it all. Cats don't need to be let out (and SHOULDN'T BE if you live in the suburbs or city, you idiots!) and they will conserve their food and water for several days if they see you aren't home at the "normal" time.
