• Cats are God's punishment, but I can't for the life of me figure out what we did to deserve them. They're the only animal you can lock out of the house for hours on end, listen to them paw at the door and beg for mercy and forgiveness, then saunter into the house like they own the place when you finally let them back in. Glorified rats.

• Actually, it's my understanding that cats shit in the open as an assertion of dominance. Cat that bury their shit are doing in in part to not offend the dominant group member (usually the human).
