Reminder: Dragonball Z Kai Starts Tonight

If you remember Dragonball Z, fondly or unfondly, you probably remember that 70% of every episode was panning across the main characters as they grunted in concern. 20% was flashbacks and recaps, meaning only about 10% of each episode contained new content. It’s a large part of the reason that Dragonball Z made it up to 276 episodes.

But tonight Dragonball Z Kai premieres on Nicktoons at 8pm EST, which is the original DBZ with all the bullshit cut out. Based on the DVD (as I mentioned last week), episode 13 of DBZ Kai corresponds with episode 30 of the original series, meaning they cut out 17 episodes worth of crap (it also means there were 17 episodes worth of crap in there in the first place, but whatever). I have to admit, I’m actually eager to see what a reasonably fast-moving DBZ looks like; I don’t know if I can watch it all again, but I gotta know, you know? (Via ANN)
