My thoughts exactly. Those weird plastic lips, skin moving all awkwardly... Still gives me the Performance Capture Zombie heebie jeebies.
-
Will Tron be in Tron? That's what I want to know. Yeah I've seen Alan, but what about Tron? I want Tron in Tron!!!
-
This trailer is orgasmic. The prior trailer made a surprise D-Box-ified appearance when I took some friends to see Inception last weekend, talk about unexpected awesome. Now I'm going to have to see the movie at least twice though, because they don't have the 3D tech installed on the same screen as the D-Box seats (this is at the Mall of America theater).
-
That was... man that was fucking brilliant
-
Unfortunately, I agree. I thought the de-aging was nearly unnoticeable in Benjamin Button so I'm uncertain as to why it doesn't look so hot in this. Here's hoping this isn't the final version of the effect. After all, they still have several months to put the finishing touches on this. Aside from the young Bridges, CGI, though, this looks friggin' awesome! Even thought I've always liked it, I've never been a huge fan of the original TRON, but for some reason, I'm totally pumped for this one.
-
Yeah, it unnerves me too.
-
Based on the plot in the trailer, wouldn't this have been better titled Tron: Odyssey?
-
Imdb has young Jeff listed as CLU 2.0, so I'd imagine it's a later program Flynn wrote after the first movie.
-
Love it when a trailer makes the hair on my arms and neck stand up.
-
Movie poster, and of course a glimpse of a VINCENT toy in the last few frames of the previous shot. This trailer is loads of awesome. Every new trailer gets me more and more excited for December.
-
CGI De-aging worked in "Benjamin Button," because they simply took the lines out of the actors faces. I masturbated just as much to the above trailer... then young-Jeff's face moves. And it looks like a fully-generated special effect, and I honestly don't know how no one else doesn't notice. :( <----- sad face

buu...whaaa..he was..whaa..uhhh...cool.
-
No, they had to show it to Pixar first so that Pixar could give fuckwin ideas for fine tooling the movie.
-
Why is this movie not out yet? Do you hate my money Disney? Is that it, do you just hate my money?
-
(Passed out from sheer awesomeness)
-
Fucking win.
-
Or wait, is he evil? I can't watch this with sound all the way up. His tone just seemed kind of douchey from what I heard. :P
-
Wow.
-
Thanks Felicity! I think that sums up how I feel
-
I have mixed feelings. It looks better than I would have expected when they first announced this a few years ago. I love the original TRON and I would hate to see it ruined by a sequel that felt it had to be more extreme, badass, and hyperkinetic. I'm disappointed that the world inside TRON isn't as polygonal as it used to be. I hope that's because, in the universe of the movie, computers have advanced and so their interior landscape has also become more detailed. But still. I miss the eighties. I really hope that the young Jeff Bridges is Clu, somehow having survived the tank program and taken over the system, and not just a new MCP that stole Flynn's face. One of the conceits of the original was that each program looked like its author. Can't say the music really works for me. And sadly, with the monochrome turquoise colouring of so many movies today, I didn't even realize until I read the comments here that the intent was to emulate the black-and-white skin with coloured armour of the original.
-
So is evil, CGI Bridges, like, evil Clu or something? God damn, this looks fantastic.
-
Well, that IS Daft Punk's score. So... we all win.
-
like kramer vs kramer but not really
-
Already there, but going to go out of the way to see this in 3-D. Worth it. And there is nothing as epic as the Dude versus the Dude.
-
What would be tres magnfique would be if he gets zapped into the original mainframe, which has the old movie graphics, and then breaks out into the modern computer environment that has the modern graphics - OMG if they were that clever I would rent the fucking theater
-
Still hard for me to dig it - I know computers have advanced a ton since the original, giving credence to the huge leap in graphic imagery, but it just doesn't look "Tron" to me without 80's graphics. Plus... Daft Punk is about the only people who could come close to Wendy Carlos' original, but I'm nervous. Been a long time since I've looked forward to a movie this bad... prolly the original Jurassic Park
-
I know what I'm doing on my brithday. Seeing this on opening day/night.
-
With all the Tron hype I went ahead and rented it earlier this year. One of the things that stood out to me was Jeff Bridges performance. He's twice the actor today that he was when that movie came out. He's got some cringe worthy dialogue in that movie. I know that Tron is untouchable to many of us, but I was always so wrapped up in Star Wars to completely fall for it. That being said, this sequel looks amazing. And I'm hoping there's some new Journey or Steve Perry song on the soundtrack. They've gone out of their way to honor the original, I hope they don't stop with the music.
-
I want a tron'd out Walter Sobchak to walk in and tell Evil Jeff that he's "being very undude". Then they'd go neon light bowling
-
Yup, I'll actually bother seeing this in 3D. Wow.
-
From what I've read, I think they do have a cameo in the film in a "Digital" bar.
-
I take back all the shit I've ever given the original Tron - this looks fucking brilliant!
-
Cool old man Jeff Bridges vs evil young Jeff Bridges? You had me at the title.
-
I could never get into the original Tron, but this movie looks fucking awesome
-
Hoe lee crap! MUST SEE THIS. MUST SEE THIS NOW.
-
That's the selling point for me too. Would be even cooler if they made a cameo :) Kinda wish this trailer had a bit more of their music in it.
-
:)
-
With Daft Punk on the soundtrack, I'm really psyched to get the CD for this one.
-
Wow...that digital deaging is just...perfect. For a second I didn't even realize it was there, it made me forget that Bridges has actually aged.
-
Aha! Never mind--I spotted it. Movie poster on the shelf. Not Maximilian sawing somebody in half, but I'll take it.
-
I'm actually starting to get used to--nay, LIKE the lack of glowy rotoscoping on high-contrast black and white. And I'd KILL to know where that Black Hole reference is. I couldn't spot it. :(
-
Yep, just creamed my jeans. That's a mess. Holy Mother. Every Tron-addict's dream.
-
Sweet. I love the Black Hole easter egg.
-
I had no idea that CGI de-aging could actually be used that well. Looks solid.
