They should sub-title this, "Mustache, the Movie".

The movie will actually be about Sinestro's descent into madness after some battle left a scar on his face that ruined his perfect little mustache.

Still think Hugo Weaving had a better face and persona to fit Sinestro, but I'm pleased enough. Certainly beats those early concept sketches.

Sensaes replied to Scortia:
Surely, Hugo Weaving is hanging on for someone to offer him Sub-Mariner?

Scortia replied to Sensaes:
Haha, he's going to be in the Cap movie, isn't he? That takes him off the table for other Marvel characters... unless they kill off a franchise like they did for Chris Evans.
I love Hugo Weaving, but I don't think he's deliciously sculpted enough for the thong.

man, everything i've seen so far of this film looks fanfilm-level cheesy. i guess green lantern just isn't the best suited material for a live action flick

don't get me wrong, cheesy can be great-it just doesn't look like the art department and the marketing team are quite on the same page here, it's a kitch character design sold seriously.

I'm not liking that that put scars on an otherwise perfect Sinestro. It reminds me of Nightcrawler in X-Men 2. It's like the make-up designers thought "Elf guys with unnatural skin colors are so boring. I know! Random scars will make them kewl!"

Seriously they all look like Snidely Wiplash or whoever that dude was who put girls on railroad tracks.
Why have TWO bad guys with them?

Hmmm, I always pictured a live-version of Sinestro as a Spaniard of some sort...

I think it's kinda weird that they have the two normal humans in this dramatic lighting with harsh shadows on their faces, but the other two are just brightly lit. Sinestro especially so.

truly a mustache to be feared! and YES on the scars! i've always wondered why a villain named "Sinestro", and a former GL veteran to boot, never had any battle scars to show for his sterling reps. what? does he Bond his way out of everything with a bunch of three-boobed enemy alien spies?
...
...
actually, i'd PAY for that movie! XD

Evil Monkey Pope replied to rickicker:
The ring emits a standard issue forcefield to protect his mug. Plus Sinestro always shoots first.

There are only 3 actors left alive on this planet that can successfully pull a mustache and make it look cool: Tom Selleck, Sam Elliot and Billy Dee Williams. And since this guy is none of the above... FAIL!

Oh man, I just can't figure mustaches out. Sometimes they're just too smart. Sometimes they're flat-out stupid. Other times they're just evil.

seeing that poster. mark just looks perfect as Sinestro. for the evil look in the eyes. and his expression looks like he is so thrilled to be on the poster when he would rather be doing some thing else. not to mention the film makers figured out how to keep sinestro skin color using cgi .

I especially like the marketing slogan:

That makes me want to see a Green Lantern movie. What's next? Blake Lively... Let Those Who
I suppose the motto is supposed to spell out the entire GL oath, but only seeing one poster-image doesn't work.
