I thought it was pretty clear when Bruce posted originally. He said Evil Dead remake. That's been in the works for a while.
My desire for this film to even exist is entirely dependent on whether Bruce plays Ash or not.
same...I mean...I know he's not the same young fox he once was...but I mean he's still a fox..but I do know a guy actor/comedian who looks like a young Bruce Campbell..if he got cast somehow I would watch that.
Let's just face it, Bruce has had one too many cheeseburgers this last decade to be able to realistically play Ash.
However, if they ever wanted to do an older Ash that's tired and worn down from years of fighting deadites (think Bubba Ho-Tep meets The Dark Knight Returns, perhaps), that'd be a great movie.
i figured that the new evil dead talk would turn out to be that its been targeted by the remake machine. though hopefuly at least bruce makes a cameo in it to lessen the pain of evil dead falling into the remake net. and maybe if it does well evil dead four could happen.
What the hell Raimi, whats so important that you're putting off Evil Dead 4 ?...The WoW movie? come on now.
All hopes of Evil Dead 4 went down the drain when Raimi said he was supporting a reboot from another directory last year. If there is a reboot there will probably never be a true sequel to the originals again...
wasn't there already a remake of Evil Dead? I think it was called Evil Dead 2.
I hate this debate. The first 15 minutes of Evil Dead II are a highly condensed retelling of the events of the first film, but with only Ash and his girlfriend instead of the three other students. When Ash leaves the cabin in the morning and is attacked by the evil force unleashed by the Necronomicon, THAT'S WHERE THE SEQUEL BEGINS.
Raimi only shot the prologue because he couldn't get the rights to show footage from the first film internationally.
You could cut together the films from the end of The Evil Dead into the Shaky Cam shot 10 minutes into II, and you'd have a semi-coherent movie. It wouldn't account for how Ash's girlfriend still has a disembodied head and body from the end of the first film, but it would explain why the Book of the Dead suddenly goes missing in the second film.
But... he said the word "remake" in his post. I don't understand how anyone would get "Evil Dead 4" from that.
and how much Rob drinks.figure after 10 he's at least a little buzzed...sitting around bitching with his cat.
So... Do you not read your own blog or something? The tweet said: "Believe in the remake." Campbell will likely have a producing role, if past interviews are anything to go by.
This. People got their hopes up with not only scant evidence, but actual evidence to the contrary.
Yeah, but this was just weird. It was like Lucas saying he was going to release all 6 Star Wars in 3-D, then someone posting a blog titled "Lucas Announces He's Working on New Star Wars Film"
The rumor has it (yes, that's a good way to inform you that the following comment will be totally reliable, I swear) that the reboot/remake might have a female lead.
My eyeballs would explode.
To be fair, my eyeballs would explode for any person not named Bruce Campbell playing Ash, be they male or female.
