I find it hilarious. I also lack a soul, due to my deal with my Dark Lord Abraxas. Make of that as you will.
The true Muppets died with Jim Henson. Brian can try to do his dads voices and such, but its just wrong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
They had me in stitches (har har) with all of the earlier trailers but this was pretty awkward and not funny.
Oh come on, this is entirely feasible if our current modern day lovable Kermit the Frog has been replaced by the psychopath who shilled for Wilkon's Instant Coffee. I only wish the creators of this short had included that awesome character who is Kermit's unfortunate foil in this short, as he seemed like a gum-drop shaped Rolf! "Help, I've been imprisoned!"
I'm bloody hoping that this is a fan film. If it's official then they have absolutely lost my vote.
I knew this wasn't legit the second that I saw a Muppet Whatnot walk out of that elevator. You can buy them at FAO Schwartz. You can tell by the seams in the face. They're made by machines not by Muppeteers, and as such, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't feature them in a trailer or any other media than a commercial, due to their horrendous quality.
This "Trailer": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
Uh, Rob? I don't think these guys get it. You want to post a clarification at some point?
Pure genius! Poor Grover, guess he wasn't really super after all. Before watching the "trailer," I thought this was actually associated w/ Jason Segal's Muppet Movie, which would have been all the more hilarious!
i know how i feel - vindication! it won't be long before all of my FFF dreams come true. and then the world will come to an end as it must having unlocked its hieghest acheivement of WTF
I dunno, I appreciate their trying, at least. Some of their stuff comes out entertaining--for me anyway. I loved their spoof commercial of The Hangover.
Ok...that might have gona a BIT too far.
I demand a reposting of Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody to make me feel better.
Does this remind anyone else of the Muppet Babies/Saw mashup from the MSPA forums?http://www.andrewhussie.com/sc...
if anything, by not doing anything like this, it shows how the "new" muppets haven't just turned into a pure cash grab that references inappropriate things for ratings.
I do see your point though, they are not above making current references. Originally I just meant they weren't doing things for pure shock value, ignoring whether it's something kids should see.
wouldn't it be more accurate to say they spoofed the trailer style that "the girl..." used? while in this, there was direct reference to things inappropriate in any child friendly movie. I could actually see a version they could use, miss piggy says the "play a game" line but it turns out the game is something innocuous.
I don't actually know anything about that movie/book though, so I can't judge how inappropriate it is to reference it at all.
It's originally called "The Men Who Hate Women" and is about Kidnap, Rape, and Sexual Abuse. So, yeah a bit outside the purview of what most think the Muppets should be. But I agree coping Trailer Styles because the design and music of it was awesome is different than placing them in certain situations similar to the film. All the trailer does when it acts like "Dragon Tattoo" is rope you in because you think it's a new "Dragon Tattoo" trailer, then make you laugh when you realize that it's only the Muppets taking the piss out of it. Muppets have always been adult based though, and only after their inception begun to appeal to kids. But it's never been strictly a "kid" property.
/Muppet panic /runs around with arms flapping in the air
Oh wait, it's a shitty fan film. Next you'll be posting every piece of crap Felicia Day is in and...wait...
/runs around with arms flapping in the air
Well, maybe if this was made by Henson Studios and not a fan film from someone named "cheeksdown" I'd be concerned.
Henson now just does dirty puppet shows and PBS CGI kid cartoons after selling The Muppets to Disney.
