Robot Combat League is starting in February on Syfy. Twelve fighting machines, one champion. Presumably, no Hugh Jackman father-son bonding to distract us from the issue at hand.
I mean, really, don't you hate when people make a movie with a great concept, like zombies or robot fighting, and then say stuff like, "It's not really about the zombies/robot-fighting, it's about the characters!" I hope there are no characters on this show at all. Just robots fighting.

It's no One Must Fall: 2097 which, by the way, was the best Robot Fighting game ever.
I loved battlebots and wish this was real, but I strongly suspect those robots are as real as the frickin' Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth.
I'm still waiting for an arm wrestling tournament whose first prize is a Semi Truck........
It's a series, so... the robots and fighting will be a minor part of the story which will be highly generic human relations and interactions. They've got a bunch of potentially interesting "original programming" slated for next year (like defiance and nuclear family) but their history of high level interference with production causing shows that do too well to go off the rails makes me dubious for anything on the channel.
Also the term "nuclear family" is now so commonly misused that I think it's definition has actually changed. Now there is no term for the traditional family structure of some 50,000 years where grandparents parent and children are included in the structure.
So this isn't the Nuclear family you were talking about?

So, what is it? Is it a Robot wars/Battlebot thing? Is it a WMAC Masters/Wrestling fake show? What is it?
@Someguy I liked this review video - it's weird, but nice to see a reviewer who wallows in their love of the film

@Gallen_Dugall @Someguy I like when she said that Peter Jackson was put on this Earth for one reason and one reason only to bring life to middle Earth. Well it sure wasn't to bring King Kong to life.
@Someguy @Gallen_Dugall I thought he was put on this Earth to prove that not all hippies are worthless stoners
@Someguy @Gallen_Dugall Pffft!!........The only reason Peter Jackson was put on this Earth was to make Meet The Feebles
@Ford_Thundercougarfalconbird I loved the British Robot Wars. (Besides the fact that Craig Charles got another gig)
I loved that the Robots also had to complete certain tasks as well. It help keep the centripetal force robot numbers down that got to be too numerous on Battlebots. I use to watch the crap out of both shows though.
