Whoa Whoa Whoa... Okay, Am I the only one that saw this? First off, the baby gets delivered...the guy says.. Hey hon.. the baby's here..... AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR BOSS!... then they flash forward to a party where they're putting their keys in a fishbowl... HELLO! Thats a fishbowl party.. popular in the 70s.. the ladies pick the keys, and they go home with the guy who owns the car.. What part of the original Dr. Seuss had the Who's as wife swapping orgy joining sexual deviants? I think the author of this blurb needs to take a harder look at this video.. so much more to be said. I hear later on in the movie there is a gang bang with suzi's mom, the grinch, a jar of flumpherbutter, and the dog.
You really want to risk another one of these? It's no wonder Taylor Momsen grew to be so screwed up.
Apparently so. It's going to be directed by Pete Candeland, who really ought to be directing the Candyland movie, if anything. But he's also directing Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, based on the ride based on the cartoon based on the book The Wind in the Willows.
I used to love that ride. Then I went on it as an adult and realized it was mostly painted wood panels. But the fact that you die and go to hell at the end is still awesome for a Disney kid ride.
I digress. The new Grinch will be animated, which may lead to Universal Studios at least replacing their Jim Carrey lookalike for something more Seussian. Any strand of hope I can grab, I will...
More links from around the web!
Dr. Seuss is actually one of the top 6 Richest Zombies who aren't alive today: http://site.daftgadgets.com/blog1/the-6-most-ridiculously-rich-zombies-in-the-world/
I have this bizarre wish to see Tim Burton direct an adaptation of "Halloween is Grinch Night."
You know when the original Grinch cartoon came on T.V. it really gave me that, it's Christmas, feelings. Then the Jim Carrey movie came and every time I ran across it I didn't feel that Christmas excitement. So yea I guess he really did steal Christmas.
surprised after the jim carrey night mare of the grinch that not only would seus estate allow another attempt but hopefully this time universal will do the grinch right, and not so night mare inducing
@demoncat_4 Seuss' widow apparently liked the live-action Grinch, but hated Cat in the Hat so much she insisted only animated Seuss movies could be done from that point forward.
@LYT @demoncat_4 I agree with her. It's really the only way to properly express the style. The writers of the Cat in the Hat movie were obviously ashamed of the source material and wrote a distasteful movie reflecting that. Hopefully they can do better in the writing department though, as The Lorax was still pretty off the mark.
@LYT @demoncat_4 good for her stating that if Sesus legacy was going to be kept alive in other media it can only be done the way that really works best for his creation's animated . the live action saved for the human characters.
That horrifying still of the baby Grinch reminds me of another part of the flashback in which we see the young version of Martha May, and I remember thinking, "I bet you a million dollars she grows up to be way better looking than Christine Baranski." I feel I have been proven correct.
@thorshammer I don't care what they make, I don't care what format they do it in, the original IS fucking perfect and this whole situation sickens me.
@thorshammer Doesn't matter. It gives them the opportunity to squeeze every last dime out of a property. And they put it in 3D to up the ticket prices.
@thorshammer it needs a Doctor Abraxas re-edit... then again what doesn't?
@thorshammer @Gallen_Dugall It's *metaphorically* exactly what they're going to do.
While they're at it, make new versions of 'The Cat In The Hat' and 'The Lorax' that don't make me want to strangle puppies.
I was raised to be a good Baptist lad, so I was already worried about going to hell for being too happy as it was, so I remember being a bit scared of the Mr. Toad ride growing up.
That said, now I think it’s awesome and seriously screwed up as a ride for little kids.
Is that a baby Grinch in the video still? Is that what I'm seeing? That hideous abomination? Thank god it's not looking directly into the camera.
Wow, you got jaded fast. I went on Mister Toads Wild ride for the last time after boot camp graduation and enjoyed it very much. I also like the pan-am sponsored one where you're slowly pulled past panoramic screens to give you the impression of fight. I also like the people-mover.
I may just be easily entertained.
Oh and my sister subjected me to three days of constant Grinch when she was left in charge by my parents one weekend when we were little. Don't care to ever see that again or anything like it.
@Gallen_Dugall Given that you're an east-coaster - are you talking about Disney World? Because OG Disneyland's a bit more primitive when it comes to the classics.
@10glfan59 You whipper snapper! Get off my lawn! Where is my cane! Turn you music down .... when I was your age .... Uhhmm where my Matlock show. Where is the rabbit ears for my T.V. What was I talking about .. Oh yea..

@TheConjurerOfCheapTricks @LYT @Gallen_Dugall the only thing here that old is someguy http://25.media.tumblr.com/5c3fa50a76f72edcbeb17eb4af884c3d/tumblr_mhrhtnLg9P1r33wzyo1_400.gif
@LYT @Gallen_Dugall yeah - I haven't been to Disney since way back then although I understand through my friends with kids that there are a lot of new attractions. Anywho we lost Mr Toads but they finally got rid of that horrible Tiki Room whatever the crap that was supposed to be. I do want to see the animal kingdom thing someday
@LYT @Gallen_Dugall Mr. Toad's Wild Ride certainly is old- it's been around since the park's opening in 1955.
@Gallen_Dugall @LYT Yeah, I think my Mr. Toad is more primitive than yours - though yours no longer exists, which is a shame.
