Some wonderful nerd decided to make an official commercial for the completely unofficial -- as in, imaginary -- '80s toyline for John Carpenter's The Thing. It's good, but now all I can think about is a retro-style Big Trouble in Little China toyline a la Kenner. Now that's a Kickstarter project I'd be happy to send a blank check to. (Via Badass Digest)

I thought it said The Thing 1982 Toy porno, I'm extremely disappointed by anything that isn't that now.
Came here just to post this, thanks. For those who don't click orphaned youtube links, this is an actual short film of The Thing, as reenacted by GI Joes. Absolutely worth your time. It's at least as scary as the actual movie.
McFarlane Toys did make a figure for The Thing. The Norris creature with spider head. http://gofigureactionfigures.com/product4147.html
Since when was Michael McDonald in The Thing? Oh, and they should have used real kids for the ad - the adults really break the "realism" of a toy commercial.
omg if only those thing had been made for real for the film. some one needs to get the license and make these finaly a reality
It would require a playset in which there is a hologram sticker of the grandfather's floating head, telling his grandson to piss on the breakfast food.
How about some 80s style "Troll 2" toy commercial? "Relive those movie moments like with this talking Arnold figure. 'They're eating her! And then they're going to eat me! OH MY GOD!' Fun for the whole family!"
