Chronicle of Unnecessary Toys: Cleatus
Having overcome a Star Wars toy addiction, I don’t make it out to the toy stores as often as I used to. So I was mighty surprised to learn about this Cleatus action figure which is apparently available. Both the most loved and most loathed football playing robot in America, Cleatus is the mascot for Fox Sports’ NFL broadcasts. He occupies an odd position, as sci-fi nerds almost* never watch football, and thus the appeal is lost on them, while most football fans think robots are stupid and gay.
At any rate, the 10-inch figure does seem to replicate Cleatus in all his glory, with an impressive amount of articulation for a crass TV tie-in. But don’t take my word for it?MWC Toys has a thorough review.
