Super Terrific Japanese Thing: Vengeance

I’m sure you guys heard about the knife-wielding maniac who went on a rampage in Akihabara, Japan’s otaku district. I didn’t report on it because it was depressing, and it’s not like you guys come to Topless Robot instead of CNN for your world news coverage. But I will happily (and sadistically) report on this: apparently, during the countless TV news reports of the tragedy, a few idiots actually mugged for the TV camera behind the reporters, which, in a country that draws comics about octopi raping 10-year-olds, is still pretty fucked up.

But the nerds of 2chan, Japan’s pre-eminent mega-forum/website, have made a video named “Wanted,” pointing out all of these dicks, hoping to identify them and punish them for their jackassery (the video keeps getting pulled, so I can’t find it). The 2channers are also screencapping all of the idiots faces from the news footage and distributing throughout the internet (you can see one of these class acts on the right). I imagine life is going to get a bit difficult for these assholes, to which all I can say is, “Good.”
