Bikini-Wearing Zombie-Slayers Coming to America (Finally)
Onechanbara is not a good game. The combat is so-so, the areas are pretty terrible and nonsensically limited, the graphics are hardly stellar. But the game is still awesome, because it’s all about a girl wearing a bikini and a cowboy hat killing zombies, and now, thanks to publisher D3, the Wii version is coming to America in early 2009, where it will be accurately titled Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers. You can see what I’m talking about in the trailer above, although you should also know that if coboy-hat-wearing swimsuit models aren’t you’re preferred choice of zombie hunter, you will have other options including schoolgirls, sexy maids and more. He brought the site to prominence with “nerd news, humor and self-loathing” as its motto, raising it from total internet obscurity to a readership in the millions, with help from his savage “FAQ” movie reviews and Fan Fiction Fridays. Under his tenure Topless Robot was covered by Gawker, Wired, Defamer, New York magazine, ABC News, and others, and his articles have been praised by Roger Ebert, Avengers actor Clark Gregg, comedian and The Daily Show correspondent John Hodgman, the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax, and others. He is currently the managing editor of io9.com. Despite decades as both an amateur and professional nerd, he continues to be completely unprepared for either the zombie apocalypse or the robot uprising.
