Hasbro and Toys R Us Hopes (Prays) that Clone Wars Is Worth a Midnight Release

I remember?not proudly?waiting outside my local Toys R Us to buy toys for The Phantom Menace. I had planned on just buying a few figures, but I got caught up in the spirit of the moment, a huge throng of frothing fanboys, and was stupid, so I end up spending $200 that I probably should have spent on…I don’t know, trying to date a woman. Then the toys sucked, and the movie sucked, and I said “never again!” Then Christopher Lee got cast in Attack of the Clones, and I was totally sucked for a second time. But I learned my lesson by Sith, however.

A lesson that Toys R Us and Hasbro have not learned, apparently. They’ll be releasing?premiering, in fact?the new Clone Wars toys on July 26th at midnight. These are the animated-style figures (like Obi-Wan above) which are laden with bazookas, so it’s going to be easy for me to resist?although Toys R Us will be getting a few exclusives to celebrate the night, including some Lego sets and a new TIE Fighter. anyway, you’ve been notified, and I’ve done my job.
