The Brutal Legend Trailer Was Not Worth the Spike Videogame Awards
If you sat through the Spike Videogame Awards, you have my condolences, as the show was pure pain. The awards were either frighteningly obvious or nonsensical, but there were a few debuts that I had hoped would be balance out the shame and horror, none more anticipated than Brutal Legend, the roadie-in-hell rock brawler. I guess that’s why I had built up Brutal Legend so much–too much–in my head, because after watching it, I’m not that impressed. There was one kinda funny Jack Black line versus about 20 “Whoa!” and “Yeah!”-type exclamations, and the gameplay–which based on the trailer, is entirely punching and driving–looks kind of repetitive. I’m not writing off Brutal Legend just yet, but I’ll need to see more before I decide it’s the amazing game I thought it was before watching this video.
