The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Revealed in Mediocre 3-D CG
It’s been less than a day since the announcement of all the stuff that’s going to be at Universal Orlando Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, and a score of videos are already up. I’ve chosen the crappy 3-D run through of the park, because it’s only three minutes long and that’s really all the time I wanted to spend on this. If you’re really interested, feel free to go to Universal’s official site for the park and watch the 30 minute or so video of Universal execs talking about how pleased they are — it might have more footage of the park, or it might be the same. I don’t know.
I’d like to add although I made fun of how much money this thing is going to separate from Potter-philiacs, it’s mostly going to happen because this thing is incredible. Harry Potter‘s not my thing, but I cannot deny how cool it is that fans of the books and movie will be getting a whole them park full of places and events and things right out of the stories. As a kid, I would have killed every child I ever met for there to be a Star Wars version of this. Hell, I probably still would. Which begs the question — why did money-loving Lucas never make a goddamn Star Wars theme park? And why won’t people let me babysit their kids anymore?
