Star Wars Awesomeness Hat Trick
British Jedis may not be your bag, so here’s three Star Wars news tidbits from the 2010 Toy Fair that are — to quote Larry David — pretty, pretty, pretty good.
?? ?The rocket-firing Boba Fett has rightfully been called “the Holy Grail of Star Wars figures.” Now you can own an actual working replica of one thanks to a redemption offer on specially marked figure packages in Hasbro’s Star Wars vintage figure line that hits stores in August. This toy was originally supposed to be released in the late ’70s until some kid choked to death on a projectile from one of Mattel’s Battlestar Galactica toys. Hasbro is gearing this slightly reworked (i.e. safer) mail-away Fett towards adult collectors in order to be sidestep any potential legal issues that would arise from the bounty hunter’s rocket finding its way into a windpipe. ?? ?Fans of The Force Unleashed can buy two Toys R Us exclusive five-packs that apparently include such figures as Modified Snuggie Guy, Haunted Stormtrooper and Busty Imperial Chick. Head over to Jedi Insider for more info on these sets.
?? Yoda’s News gives us the goods on the upcoming Imperial Walker toy that holds 20 figures, features movie dialogue, allows a Luke to dangle from its nethers and generally gives your life a purpose. It retails for $99, so you have no excuse not to buy one. Hasbro is, in the parlance of our times, bringing it with these new toys.
