A Sudden, Terrifying Revelation About the Ewoks
No, I’m not talking about the fact that they ate the Stormtroopers that survived their base assault — that’s obvious, and anyone who disagrees is in denial (seriously, they were going to cook Han Solo alive, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t do the same to the Empire. Why would they let all that good meat go to waste?). But this karaoke video for the Ewok Celebration song, a.k.a. “Yub Nub,” has blown my mind, and not in a good way. Maybe because I didn’t want to know, or maybe because Lucas replaced the song in the Return of the Jedi special editions, but I had no idea “Yub Nub” ended with a human choir singing “Celebrate the Love.” Really? Ugh. That’s so lame. I always assumed the chorus was singing in Ewok, because I could never make out what they were saying. Until this stupid video, that is. Essentially, I’ve spent the last 27 years thinking the Ewoks were less lame than they actually were. That’s fucked up, that is.
