The Avengers Cartoon Still Looks Good, Sounds Awful
I’m getting pretty excited about Disney XD’s new Avengers cartoon. Between the last trailer and this new one, it looks like it’s going to be Marvel’s version of the Bruce Timm/Paul Dini DC cartooniverse — probably not as deep, of course, but it looks like they’re going to be throwing as many Marvel heroes and villains in there as possible. CBR has some more exciting details, including the fact that Kang the Conquerer and Baron Zemo will be showing up, and that Captain America isn’t even in the first episode (a nice nod to the fact that Cap didn’t appear until Avengers #4). But my favorite part is this quote from Supervising Producer Joshua Fine, who said “every threat the Avengers face has to be ‘so insanely
enormous that it doesn’t look like guys like the Hulk or Thor are going
to come out of them okay.'”
BUT SWEET CHRIST THAT SONG. It’s got to go. I’m beginning to think that the song is some part of diabolical plan by Loki, and when the Avengers hand him his ass, the them will change to something instrumental and non-evil.
