Super Terrific Japanese Thing: Uke3453

Some of you may have been wondering why I posted that Japanese Darth Vader/cellphone commercial earlier today instead of saving it for STJT. Well, that’s because I was all set to post Dog Wigs, which are, in fact, wigs for dogs, available for $4 (approximately) in a capsule toy machine (like found at American grocery stores, but much nicer) in the high fashion Tokyo district of Ginza. And I was going to post that until I found this:

Met Uke3453, the 5-year-old ukelele-playing sensation, performing his cover of The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” It may be the most phenomenal thing I’ve ever seen, mostly because of the way he rocks the fuck out near the end. It’s so simultaneously adorable and awesome I can barely stand it. There are several more videos at the link. (Via JapanSugoi)
