The Green Hornet, Starring Kato, and to a Lesser Extent, the Green Hornet
/Film posted this (unfortunately fuzzy) international trailer for The Green Hornet, where the “international” part means “highlighting Tainwanese singer/actor/superstar Jay Chou, and not the shlubby stoner dude from Knocked Up.” Which is fine, because Kato has always been the most interesting part of The Green Hornet, and certainly the more badass of the two. The more I think about it, having Kato be the straight man to a kinda goofy Green Hornet makes a lot of sense. I’m digging Kato’s super-competence and action-scenes in the trailer, as well as Seth Rogen’s naive enthusiasm for superheroing — I think it works pretty damn well together. About the only thing I don’t like it that horrible Braveheart “don’t be afraid to live” bullshit at the end there. Although, in my opinion, Rogen’s mean-spirited use of the gas gun at the end makes up for it.
