New ThunderCats Trifecta: Toy Pics, Toy Line-Ups, and Snarf

ToyNewsI got some new ThunderCats info from Bandai, which I’m happy to give you the highlights of here.

? First up, better shots of (two of) the action figures. To the left is the 4-inch Lion-O, and to the right is the 8-inch Cheetara. Note: TNI claims it’s the 4-inch Cheetara in the article, but the image file is called 8-inch Cheetara, and that’s what I’m guessing it is. Why? Because if you’ll look at  the 4-inch Lion-O, he has those gray pegs that Bandai puts in all its cheap figures, which look horrible and are frankly inexcusable in the day in age when no other toy company is taking such shortcuts on its 4-inch figure (compare any Hasbro Marvel, GI Joe or Star Wars figure to any 4-inch Bandai figure, and you’ll see what I mean). Meanwhile, Cheetara actually looks like a decent figure, with no gray pegs, so I’d bet my nerd soul she’s in a larger, more expensive scale.

The actual, full toy line-up and the first pic of Snarf after the jump.

? Bandai’s revealed the full staring line-up. The 4-inch figures will include Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Mumm-Ra, and Wilykit and Wilykat; also, they’ll each have some kind of magnet action feature to interact with the vehicles and Tower of Omens playset. There will be some 4-inch deluxe figures, including Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Tygra and Grune.

Now, the 6-inch figures — which supposedly have 18 points of articulation, which sounds pretty groovy — include Lion-O, Panthro, and Mumm-Ra to start. Last but not least, the 8-inch Collector’s series — you know, the ones based on the original cartoon — will also have 18 points of articulation, and will begin with Lion-O and Tygra. I appreciate the fact that Bandai is actually making highly articulated figures, but I’m confused why they’re bothering to make 6-inch and 8-inch figures — seems like it would be smarter and more cost effective to have both the good toys of the new and old ThunderCats be in the same scale. Don’t you think?

? Last but not least:
