The Spider-Man Musical Is Totally Fixed Now

?And when I say “totally fixed” I mean “listen to these quotes from the New York Times article on the jiggered musical”:

? “Yet there was the Goblin alive and well in Act II at Friday’s rehearsal
of “Spider-Man,” cracking wise in a new scene lampooning telephone voice
mail.”
? “Bono also explained for the first time why Ms. Taymor’s signature
character, Arachne, a mortal transformed into a spider by the goddess
Athena, has been scaled back. Arachne, who ultimately became a villain
in the original, has been turned into a guardian angel figure.”
? “Several of [Julie Taymor’s] concepts remain, especially in Act I, including the bullies who torment Peter Parker and the concerns about global warming that motivate Norman Osborn (who becomes the Goblin) and his wife, Emily, also a bigger character now.”
? “Asked if a famous phrase usually attributed to Uncle Ben in the comic
books — “with great power comes great responsibility” — was now in the
show, Mr. Aguirre-Sacasa declined to comment.”

A supervillain jokes about “telephone voice mail”? The horrible character of Arachne still around, but a good guy? The Green Goblin upset about global warming? A bigger role for the Green Goblin’s wife? Still no “with great power comes great responsibility” line? Yep, everything is lookin’ great! Thanks to Richard C. for the tip.
