It seems too much to hope for — I mean, it still stars Channing Tatum and is being directed by the guy who did the goddamn Justin Bieber movie. And yet, earlier today we heard that the awesome Walton Goggins has just been cast in the movie, and now…

?That’s The Rock, who plays Roadblock in the movie. Now, we don’t know for certain that this is a picture of the Rock as Roadblock… but filming on the movie did start today, and this picture came out today, so I’d say it’s a pretty reasonable assumption to make. What strikes me most about it is when I look at him, he looks like Roadblock. Like a character I recognize on sight alone — something I couldn’t do with anyone in the first Joe movie other than Snake Eyes and the Baroness. Is it possible that director Jon Chu actually gives a shit about G.I. Joe? Maybe, god forbid, he even likes it a little? And doesn’t want to just crap out a sequel? Are such things even possible? I don’t know. I just don’t know. Thanks to everyone for sending this in, though.
