VGA Trailer Trifecta: Diablo III, Mass Effect 3, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
? I have no fucking clue what’s going on in this cinematic trailer for Diablo III, but holy mother of god is it pretty. I don’t really need to know who the girl and her uncle are to enjoy seeing the armies of hell stopping by to kick some ass.
? Ah, another awesome Mass Effect 3 trailer, another reminder I should really get back to playing ME1. In this trailer, there’s a giant robot, a giant bug, and a lot of running. My only concern is that if I’m half as bad at ME3 as I currently am at ME1, I will die trying to play these three minutes of gameplay around a jillion times.
? I did not expect to be posting this Metal Gear Rising footage; I really thought I’d be posting Bioshock Infinite instead. However, the Bioshock Infinite footage was pretty dull, mostly things we’d seen before, while MGR — now hilariously subtitled Revengeance — was… well, just watch it. I don’t think MGR is going to be a better game than Infinite — honestly, MGR looks like a slower, clunkier version of Arkham City‘s combat, just with a sword and that awesome cutting mechanic — but in terms of excitement, picking up a giant robot, tossing it into the air, then jumping on it and cleaving it in two beats slow a capella covers of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” every time.
