Someone made a side-by-side comparison of the opening sequence of Raiders of the Lost Ark and a recreation, using various footage from 30 old adventures movies made between 1919 and 1973. It starts out pretty so-so, as it’s mostly just men in hats walking around a jungle, but once Indy enters the cave it gets pretty crazy. I don’t think this is implying Raiders is a rip-off or anything — I mean, if it were from like two movies, that’d be something else. Besides, Spielberg and Lucas were always up front about Raiders being an homage to these old adventure serials and flicks. Anyways, it’s pretty entertaining. (Via io9)
