Heroes of Cosplay Is Casting for Six New Episodes

Despite all the criticism – some of it from our own writers – I’ve generally enjoyed Syfy’s take on those who make outfits for conventions. However, if I were a cosplayer, I can’t say I’d want to be on it. Like all reality shows, it favors enhanced conflict and artificial competition elements over genuine real life, and in an era where body acceptance and tolerance is something most geek sites are trying to push forward in cosplay and elsewhere, it’s a show that heightens scrutiny and insecurity in those areas.

Nonetheless, if you live in the Los Angeles or Atlanta areas, and feel like you can handle that particular pressure cooker…

I don’t know what they’re looking for, exactly, but if I were thinking like a cynical reality show producer looking for conflict and gimmickry, I’d be looking for at least one male cross-gender cosplayer – and I’d bring back the Doctor Who girl who briefly feuded with Chloe Dykstra online, this time as a full-time cast member.

Who or what could they cast that would make you interested…if anybody?
