Sean Pertwee is Alfred, Robin Taylor the Penguin in Gotham

I guess this tells you which direction they’re going with Alfred. The official character description calls him “A tough-as-nails ex-marine,” which right there tells you that none of the show’s publicists knows any actual Marines, because they never say “ex,” but “former.” It’s as much of a sticking point as not wanting to be called “soldier.”

So who’s Robin Taylor? Remember that recent episode of The Walking Dead where Rick and Carol found that young couple hiding out, and kinda tried to help them but it didn’t work? That dude is Oswald Cobblepot, low-level thug, presumably before he got fat. I’m not crazy about what this says about where they’re going, but it’s the only thing so far that seems off.

Also cast are Erin Richards as Jim Gordon’s fiancee Barbara, and Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen. Danny Cannon, director of the not-good Judge Dredd movie, will direct the pilot.
